DAY 27 | Psalms 42–72 | The King’s Heart: Worship, Prayer, and the Hope of Righteous RuleThese psalms move deeper into the spiritual life of Israel during the monarchy. They include prayers of longing, cries for deliverance, songs of trust, and powerful royal psalms that describe the character of God’s anointed king.
Within these chapters we see the tension between human weakness and divine kingship. The psalmists wrestle with sorrow, injustice, and personal struggle while continually turning their hope toward God’s righteous reign.
The section culminates with Psalm 72, a majestic vision of the ideal king whose reign brings justice, peace, and blessing to all nations.
