Candorland is a podcast with three purposes:

  1. Demonstrate Candor. Our society (both on social media and in real life) has devalued honesty, integrity, empathy, and facts. Arguing hurts us all, and it has harmed our society as we've drifted into a world where open communication is met with open hostility. Conversation rooted in candor, vulnerability, and humor is valuable to society, so we're doing it here and hope it catches on.

  2. Offer Comfort. Candorland aims to give you an entertaining break from all the stuff that worries you. Two people (and occasional guests) share their thoughts and feelings around mostly mundane topics. These thoughts lead to deeper conversations that always come back to the idea that we can disagree and still care about one another. It's ok to be wrong about things you think or believe, and we show that in our fact-checking "F-Bomb" at the end of every episode.

  3. Foster Creativity. Art and creativity are fundamental to happiness. Down time recharges our batteries and helps us process information. Candorland is part of Chris and Jason's wellbeing. We won't be breaking our backs to fit algorithms, meet tight deadlines, or engage in a system that extracts our humanity and gives us crumbs in return. We will be engaging in new artistic expressions and creative processes, sharing what we learn along the way.

In episode 2 of Candorland, Chris and Jason start with real talk about heavy feelings and the ecosystem we all exist in. If you feel the same, you're not alone, we're all in this together.

Also in this episode: Chris talks about a very common Gen X trait (seeing inappropriate films way too young), Jason tells a joke he wrote about a duck, and they banter with candor about conjugal trailers. Through honest conversation and comedy, serious insights and humor can exist simultaneously.

Plus, at the end of every episode of Candorland, Chris and Jason acknowledge their errors and correct the record in the fact-checking "F-Bomb" segment.

  • The World Needs Candor, Man

In their very first episode of Candorland, Jason and Chris share some personal details regarding autism and neurodivergence. They discuss the concept of candor and how it can help us find common ground, communicate more effectively, and learn from our mistakes.

Also in this episode: Jason unintentionally makes a strange friend at the grocery store, Chris throws (warranted) shade at LinkedIn, and there's some real talk about flatulence. Through honest conversation and comedy, serious insights and humor exist simultaneously.

Plus, at the end of every episode of Candorland, Chris and Jason acknowledge their errors and correct the record in the fact-checking "F-Bomb" segment.
