This book is all about being in a band in the 1970s and 1980s and features Paul Anthony Cook who rose to fame with the band Sade in 1984. Along with his bass partner from the same city of Hull, Paul Denman these two musicians literally took London by storm from 1980 to 1984 accumulating in the album Diamond Life by Sade selling over 10 Million copies. To learn more about being in a band in the 1970's and 1980's, this book is for you as it gives you a unique snapshot into the music industry at that time. This essentially is a story of how two working class lads from a UK Northern Town of Hull shaped some of the most hippest and iconic bands, first The Posers, then Pride and then Sade.

This story is about three musicians from Hull that shaped the face of music in the early 1980's from Left to Right Paul Cook (Drums) Stuart Mathewman (Sax and guitar) and Paul Denman (Bass). PSP (Paul-Stuart-Paul) was the backing band for Pride in London that spawned the hit 'Smooth Operator' and ultimately the band Sade that launched the most famous UK black female artist ever onto the music scene in 1984 Sade Adu. The boys own jazz three piece outfit called PSP that played in London, created songs like 'Snakebite', Cherry Pie, Mr Wrong all which found its way onto Sade Adu's albums Diamond Life in 1984 and Promise in 1985. The Sade band members were also known in NYC, USA as the 'Martini Boys' for obvious reasons.
