  • 004 - Dr. James "Doc" Fisher
    2026/06/12
Today I'm speaking with Dr. James E. "Doc" Fisher — a former Marine, lifelong educator, and analytical philosopher now affiliated with ERA USA. Born in 1933 in the Flint Hills of Kansas, Doc earned his doctorate from Indiana University in 1971 and went on to teach philosophy at Quincy College, Southern Illinois University, Allen University, and Cairo American College in Egypt. At 93, he's currently writing three books. We talk about everything from 1930s rural Kansas and Marine Corps boot camp to simulation theory, the Anunnaki, the nature of consciousness, reductionism versus emergentism, and the questions that still pull him into the work. â” â” â” â” â” â” â” â” â” â” â” â” â” â” â” â” â” â” â” â” â” â” â” â” â” â” CHAPTERS â” â” â” â” â” â” â” â” â” â” â” â” â” â” â” â” â” â” â” â” â” â” â” â” â” â” 0:00 Intro 0:46 Dr. Fisher's nickname origin 2:28 Growing up in Kansas 5:07 Military service and travel 6:30 Life in 1930s rural Kansas 9:40 Childhood memories and smoking 13:00 Parents' backgrounds and origins 14:29 School system and early education 15:19 Marine Corps and basketball recruitment 17:09 Boot camp training and discipline 19:23 Early philosophy and hunting ethics 21:33 Path to teaching and science education 22:42 Scale of universe and particles 24:08 Simulation theory and artificial intelligence 26:23 Soul and consciousness discussion 28:43 Perception and sensory pathways 30:38 Human evolution and African origins 32:05 Anunnaki theory and alien beings 35:38 DNA mutation and lifespan modification 39:01 Longevity peptides and biological age 41:34 AI business and large language models 42:41 Artificial vs. natural intelligence 46:50 Reductionism and emergentism philosophy 52:33 Knowledge and scientific method 54:47 Writing three books 56:37 Socratic method and AI interaction 58:05 AI personification and consciousness 1:02:16 Teaching in Cairo and Africa 1:04:08 Cairo American College and international schools 1:05:16 Published books and analytical philosophy 1:07:20 Shift to experiential philosophy 1:08:02 Closing remarks and gratitude â” â” â” â” â” â” â” â” â” â” â” â” â” â” â” â” â” â” â” â” â” â” â” â” â” â” GUEST LINKS â” â” â” â” â” â” â” â” â” â” â” â” â” â” â” â” â” â” â” â” â” â” â” â” â” â” Dr. James E.
