  • Ray Gebauer and the STOP Acronym with the 3rd T in Tragedy with Peter Mingils
    2026/04/09
Loading… 0:00 0:00 Ray Gebauer continues his STOP Acronym with the 3rd letter T standing for Tragedy on Building Fortunes Radio. The word Tragedy has meaning and significance. Ray explains the difference The Power of the Internal Narrative: Mastering the Skill of "Tell" We are all natural-born storytellers. From the moment we wake up until we close our eyes at night, a constant narration runs through our minds. This isn't just idle chatter; it is the act of "Telling"—the process of constructing a narrative that defines our reality, our capabilities, and our future. While we often focus on the skills we use to communicate with others, the most critical skill you can develop for personal and professional success is the ability to monitor and direct the stories you tell yourself. The Architecture of the Self-Story The word "Tell" usually implies an audience. When you tell a story to a friend, you choose your words carefully to elicit a specific reaction. However, when you tell yourself a story, you are often less disciplined. You might tell yourself you aren't "cut out" for leadership, or that a recent setback is a permanent reflection of your worth. Developing the skill of the "Tell" means becoming a conscious editor of this internal script. It requires moving from a passive listener of your own doubts to an active author of your own potential. If you tell yourself a story of scarcity, you will see a world of closed doors. If you tell yourself a story of growth, every obstacle becomes a data point for your next success. Insights from Building Fortunes Radio This concept of internal narrative isn't just "positive thinking"; it is a foundational business skill. On a recent episode of Building Fortunes Radio, host Peter Mingils sat down with Ray Gebauer to dive deep into this exact topic. Ray Gebauer, a seasoned leader in the direct sales and personal development space, emphasizes that the stories we tell ourselves are the primary drivers of our results. During the discussion with Peter Mingils, Ray highlighted how many entrepreneurs stall not because they lack technical skills, but because the "Tell" they are running in their heads is outdated or self-sabotaging. When you listen to Ray Gebauer on Building Fortunes Radio, you realize that the most successful people in any industry have mastered the art of the Internal Tell. They have learned to narrate their daily activities in a way that generates energy rather than draining it. Peter and Ray's conversation serves as a powerful reminder that before you can successfully tell your story to a prospect or a team, you must first believe the story you are telling yourself. How to Master Your "Tell" Developing this skill requires three distinct phases: Auditing, Reframing, and Reinforcing. 1. The Audit Stop and listen. What is the "Tell" regarding your current project? Is it "This is too hard," or is it "I am currently learning the nuances of this challenge"? Identifying the specific words you use is the first step toward change. 2. The Reframe Once you catch a negative narrative, edit it in real-time. This isn't about lying to yourself; it's about choosing a more productive truth. Instead of telling yourself, "I failed that presentation," tell yourself, "I have identified three areas where I can improve my delivery for next time." 3. The Reinforcement Like any skill, the "Tell" requires practice. Surround yourself with high-quality inputs. This is why resources like Building Fortunes Radio are so vital. When you listen to Peter Mingils and experts like Ray Gebauer, you are essentially "borrowing" a high-level narrative until you can fully integrate it into your own mindset. The Ripple Effect When you change the story you tell yourself, your external communication changes automatically. Your voice carries more conviction, your body language becomes more open, and your "Tell" to the world becomes magnetic. As Ray Gebauer often suggests, your life eventually becomes the story you tell most often. If you want to build a "fortune"—whether in finances, relationships, or personal peace—you must start by becoming a master storyteller in the privacy of your own mind. You can hear Ray Gebauer on Youmongus Radio too! https://youmongusradio.com Also on the AM and FM sites:https://youmongus.radio.am and https://youmongus.radio.fm The post Ray Gebauer and the STOP Acronym with the 3rd T in Tragedy with Peter Mingils appeared first on Building Fortunes Radio Network.

  • Ken Nielson and Peter Mingils on The Doubling Penny Story on Count on the Truth Radio
    2026/04/08
Loading… 0:00 0:00 Ken Nielson hosts Count on the Truth Radio show every week on Building Fortunes Radio and the Youmongus Radio Network. On this episode he talks about The Doubling Penny Story One of the most frequently used stories in the MLM profession is the famous "Doubling Penny” illustration. The lesson is simple. If you are offered a choice between one million dollars today or a single penny that doubles every day for thirty days, many people instinctively choose the million dollars. But by day thirty, the doubling penny grows to more than five million dollars. The point of the story is to demonstrate the power of compound growth and delayed gratification. In network marketing, this story is often used to explain how small, consistent efforts can produce massive long-term rewards. The message is that building an MLM business may seem slow in the beginning, but if each person duplicates and teaches others to do the same, growth can accelerate dramatically over time. The analogy is powerful because it reinforces several important principles that are legitimately valuable in business and in life. Persistence matters. Patience matters. Consistency matters. Small actions repeated over time often produce results far greater than dramatic but inconsistent bursts of effort. However, the doubling penny story can also be misleading when presented without context. The story assumes perfect mathematical duplication. In real life, MLM organizations do not grow in flawless exponential patterns. People quit. Many never recruit anyone. Markets saturate. Leaders vary in skill. Customers may not reorder. Life happens. The mathematical purity of the penny doubling every day rarely reflects the realities of human behavior inside a network marketing organization. That does not make the lesson worthless. It simply means the story should be understood as a motivational metaphor, not a realistic projection. Used honestly, the Doubling Penny story reminds distributors that meaningful businesses are often built gradually, not overnight. Success typically begins with small wins, modest momentum, and consistent personal development. The people who stay committed long enough to improve their skills often outperform those chasing instant gratification. But when used irresponsibly, the story can create unrealistic expectations, implying that anyone who simply "sticks with it” will eventually experience explosive financial growth. That is not how business works. Effort matters, but so do market conditions, skill, timing, leadership, product demand, and execution. The real takeaway is this: The Doubling Penny is not proof that MLM automatically creates wealth. It is a reminder that compound effort, when applied consistently and strategically, can create results larger than most people expect. In MLM, as in any business, success requires more than faith in a story. It requires discipline, skill, leadership, and realistic expectations. • Don Givehand of Omaha Classmates joins Irvin Harris and Peter Mingils on Basketball Coach News
    2026/04/06
Basketball Coach News features Coach Irvin Harris and Peter Mingils as they interview Don Givehand, the creator of the Facebook group Omaha Classmates Loading… 0:00 0:00 Basketball Coach News on Building Fortunes Radio is hosted by Coach Irvin Harris and Peter Mingils every week, and Don Givehand is an exceptional guest. Here are two of the people that lived Omaha and sports. The real people that the movie 24th & Glory was based on. Hear their stories. There's a group on Facebook called Omaha Classmates. Check this out! 24th and Glory: How a Small Omaha Neighborhood Changed Sports and Civil Rights History The story of 24th and Glory is one of the most remarkable and underappreciated stories in American sports and civil rights history. Centered in North Omaha, Nebraska, this story tells how a small, segregated Black neighborhood produced an extraordinary generation of world-class athletes while simultaneously helping fuel the fight for racial equality during one of the most turbulent periods in American history. The title "24th and Glory” refers to the intersection of North 24th Street and Glory, a symbolic representation of the North Omaha community where many of these athletes were raised. It was more than just a neighborhood. It was a proving ground. In an era when racial segregation and discrimination limited opportunities for Black Americans, this community developed a culture of discipline, toughness, accountability, and excellence that shaped some of the greatest athletes of the twentieth century. From this one neighborhood emerged legendary names such as Bob Gibson, Gale Sayers, Johnny Rodgers, Bob Boozer, Marlin Briscoe, and others who would go on to transform professional sports. What makes their collective rise so extraordinary is not merely their athletic success, but the context in which it happened. These athletes did not rise from privilege or broad institutional support. They came from a segregated part of Omaha where racial barriers affected nearly every part of life, from housing to education to employment. Yet in the face of those limitations, the neighborhood built champions. The athletic success of North Omaha was not accidental. The community had strong families, demanding coaches, local mentors, neighborhood pride, and a culture where young people were pushed toward discipline and excellence. Sports became both an escape and a pathway. Young athletes competed relentlessly against each other, sharpening their skills in neighborhood parks, schoolyards, and playgrounds. Iron sharpened iron. By the time many of them reached high school or college, they were already battle-tested. But 24th and Glory is not merely a sports story. It is a civil rights story. These athletes came of age during the peak of the Civil Rights Movement, and their success exposed the contradictions of American society. They could fill stadiums, win championships, and bring pride to their city, yet still face discrimination in restaurants, hotels, housing, and everyday life. Omaha, like much of America, celebrated Black athletes on the field while denying them equality off it. That tension helped fuel activism and awareness throughout the community. North Omaha was not just producing athletes. It was producing leaders, voices, and examples that challenged racial stereotypes and demanded respect. Their excellence forced institutions to confront prejudices they had long maintained. The achievements of these athletes helped break barriers in college and professional sports while also giving the broader Black community visible symbols of excellence and possibility. The story also highlights an important truth often forgotten in discussions about civil rights: progress did not happen only in famous places like Birmingham, Selma, or Washington, D.C. Important battles for equality were fought in cities like Omaha, through neighborhoods like North Omaha, by ordinary families raising extraordinary young men under difficult circumstances. What makes 24th and Glory so compelling is that it combines triumph with realism. It celebrates greatness without ignoring hardship. It honors athletic achievement while showing the pain, injustice, and frustration these men endured. Their victories were not simply personal accomplishments. They were acts of perseverance against a system that often expected them to fail. Ultimately, the legacy of 24th and Glory is about more than sports. It is about the power of community. It is about how a concentrated culture of discipline, mentorship, and belief can overcome enormous external obstacles. It is about how excellence can emerge from adversity. And it is about how athletics, while not solving racial injustice, can become a platform for challenging it. The intersection of 24th and Glory represents more than a place on a map. It represents the meeting point of talent, struggle, pride, and history. It is where sports greatness and civil rights history collided, ...

Stop the Amway Tool Scam – Scott Johnson on Building Fortunes Radio

This video features Scott Johnson discussing his personal journey and the specific mechanics of the "Tool Scam" that he and Peter Mingils expose on their radio show.

You can see more of what Scott Johnson has on https://www.facebook.com/stoptheamwaytoolscam

The Amway tools scam is a hidden profit scheme within the Amway multi-level marketing (MLM) structure that exploits distributors, often leaving them with financial losses instead of the promised wealth. Amway, a well-known MLM company, markets health, beauty, and home products through independent business owners (IBOs). While the company emphasizes product sales, the real money for top-tier distributors, often at the Diamond level or above, comes from selling motivational "tools” like books, tapes, seminars, and rallies, not from product sales. These tools, promoted as essential for success, create a separate revenue stream that disproportionately benefits upline leaders while draining the profits of lower-level distributors.

Distributors are pressured to purchase these overpriced tools, often costing hundreds or thousands annually, with promises of learning the secrets to building a lucrative Amway business. However, studies and lawsuits reveal that 99% of Amway distributors lose money, with average earnings below $100 monthly after expenses. The tools business, controlled by high-ranking distributors like Dexter Yager, generates millions for the elite, who earn significant markups on items like cassette tapes sold at rallies for up to $10,000 a night in cash. Meanwhile, new recruits face high startup costs—starter kits, training sessions, and product samples, further eroding their profits. This creates a pyramid-like structure where uplines profit from downlines' purchases, not retail sales, resembling an illegal scheme.
