  • Dance and Community: How Ceroc Brings Different People Together
    2026/03/15

    Send us Fan Mail

Dance and community come together in this episode of the Ceroc Inspire Dance Inspiration Podcast as Liz and Mark reflect on the people behind the dance floor and the community they have built through Ceroc Inspire.

The conversation begins with a moment during taxi dancer training, when Liz realised that many of the people in the room would never have met if it were not for dance. From there, the episode explores the many different stories, personalities and life experiences that come together within a Ceroc community.

Liz and Mark talk about the different needs dance can meet, from confidence building, friendship and exercise to structure, routine and social connection. They reflect on how some dancers love busy venues while others prefer quieter nights, how some enjoy classes while others come mainly for freestyle, and how themed events, social media, social outings and regular routines all play a part in shaping the wider community.

The episode also touches on the harder side of life, including grief, divorce, illness, injury, financial pressure and loneliness, and how staying connected through emails, online groups and the wider Ceroc family can help dancers still feel part of something even when they cannot attend.

This is a thoughtful and positive conversation about what makes a dance community special, and how Ceroc can bring together people from very different walks of life through a shared love of dance.

  • What Expressive Dance means for our Community
    2026/02/01

    Send us Fan Mail

Dance community, expressive movement, and musical connection are the focus of this episode, as Liz and Mark are joined by Tor Khan to talk about Inspire and Evolve, a new workshop and tea dance experience created for dancers who want to deepen connection, musicality, and confidence on the dance floor.

Tor shares the thinking behind Inspire and Evolve, drawing on her background in expressive dance, blues, and musical interpretation. She explains how the two hour workshop focuses on fundamentals such as connection with your partner, the music, your body, and the floor, followed by a specific technique that dancers can immediately practise during the tea dance.

The conversation explores why this format supports real dancer development, how stand alone workshops still build growth over time, and why having space to practise with guidance makes such a difference. Tor also talks about music choice, emotional connection, respectful holds, and how expressive dance skills enhance both chill out and main room dancing.

This episode is ideal for Ceroc dancers who want to evolve their dancing, feel more confident, and strengthen their connection to the music, their partner, and the wider dance community.
