Before they can dive into that, they get service and find out that Elliot's dad is back in town. Elliot's dad joins Del & Sam for dinner to hash things out some more. Alice watches as Victor Augustine (Elliot's dad) asks Tessa out on a date. And then she watches as Tessa steals money and looks at Alice and puts her finger to her mouth...don't you tell! Kat goes to talk to him, tell him that she's open to continuing that conversation about kids but he needs to work things out with his dad. While looking at the picture of Tessa, she recognizes the bracelet she's wearing. Turns out, it's the same bracelet that Fern is wearing in that reel. Elliot asks his dad how he can be so sure that his mom died if he never saw her again. He gives him a letter he received, saying she's dying, that included the ring. Fern takes Kat to a speakeasy where she performs and then Kat overhears the big bad Augustines talking about getting rid of her. Kat is then shocked to hear her singing Tainted Love. She goes to confront her about singing a song from the future when she starts feeling funky. She collapses as Cliff comes down there to break up the party. Fern says oh Kitty Kat what are we gonna do with you? Elliot and his dad make up as the clock chimes at 11:11, like always. He says that his mom always used to say make a wish at 11:11. It's Tuesday which means there's a new Hallmark movie to review!

    ABOUT KENTUCKY ROSES

A greenhouse worker and the son of Churchill Downs' CEO form an unlikely pair, coming together to save the Kentucky Derby rose blanket and uncovering a generational love story along the way.

AIR DATE & NETWORK FOR KENTUCKY ROSES

    May 2, 2026 | Hallmark

CAST & CREW OF KENTUCKY ROSES

    Director: Clare Niederpruem

    Writer: Jamie Pachino

    Cast:

    • Odette Annable as Sadie
    • Andrew W. Walker as Ash Taylor
    BRAN'S MOVIE SYNOPSIS

It's 1932 and this dude brings this girl out to the woods to give her a horseshoe necklace. She's like I can't take this. We hardly know each other. And it looks expensive. He's like it is. I got big dreams and I want someone by my side to grow an empire with. She asks him to put it on her.

We then see a bunch of clips of the Kentucky Derby from over the years. We meet Sadie who is going to leave her family's greenhouse, the one for Churchill Downs, so that she can become a full time florist - that's her dream. She notices some work being done at Churchill Downs. Apparently a storm came through.

We then meet Ash Taylor. He's the son of the Churchill Downs CEO. His dad calls him and says there's been an emergency and asks him to come home. Ash is like I'm too busy to help you. It's clear that he and his dad don't see eye to eye. Ash even changed his last name so that people wouldn't know that he is a Reed. He doesn't want to take any shortcuts. But when his mom asks him to do it, he can't say no.

He comes across Sadie who is looking at the flowers at Churchill Downs. They chat and bond over not wanting to take over the family business. They end up watching fireworks together and having a great time. But they didn't exchange information...not even names.

Luckily for them, they bump into each other at a bar the next night. They have a great time!

Ash's mom bumps into Sadie and sees some of her work and hires her to put together some bouquets for a fundraising event. When Sadie's boss finds out, she's like well...figure it out.

She's gotta find some roses. Luckily Ash knows where they can find some in the wild. This is when she explains that greenhouse flowers are different than florist flowers and I gotta be honest....thankful for that explanation. This is also when she finds out that he is the son of the Derby folks, the Reeds, and she's not pleased.

We find out that that couple at the beginning of the movie was Ash's great-uncle and Sadie's great-grandma. Apparently they were in love. But his dad wouldn't let him marry her.

The flowers mysteriously end up on Sadie's doorstep and the event is a big success.

She ends up going out with Ash again but they get in an argument - apparently his family thinks that her great-grandmother kept the jewelry. Her family says they gave it back. It's a whole thing.

But no time to wallow. She finds out that the roses for the Derby's blanket of roses are stuck in South America. So she posts a video on social media asking for the community to all bring their roses. And it works! The roses come flying in. Big success!

She also finds a letter that tells her where the necklace is and she brings it to Ash to have him put it on her. And they kiss BIG HONKEN ONES! KISS OF THE YEAR CONTENDER!

It's Derby day! He tells his dad he's willing to come back if he can run the charity that finds homes for old Derby horses.

Her best friend wins the Derby. And then his dad says they are going to source the roses locally moving forward and they want her to do it first. They celebrate with another kiss.

  • Gilmore the Merrier - Season 2 Episode 1
    2026/05/03

We're back with some more Gilmore Girls! Join us in this journey on social media - @gilmorethemerrierpod.

ABOUT: GILMORE GIRLS (SEASON 2 EPISODE 1)

Lorelai and Max's relationship gets more serious. Luke's girlfriend Rachel returns. Meanwhile, Rory tries to win Dean back.

AIR DATE & NETWORK FOR: GILMORE GIRLS (SEASON 2 EPISODE 1)

    October 9, 2001 | The WB

CAST & CREW OF: GILMORE GIRLS (SEASON 2 EPISODE 1)
    • Lauren Graham as Lorelai Gilmore
    • Alexis Bledel as Rory Gilmore
BRAN’S GILMORE GIRLS (SEASON 2 EPISODE 1) SYNOPSIS

It’s spring in Stars Hollow. Flowers everywhere. Life is good.

Rory is talking to Lorelai about where she should get married…which Lorelai very much does not want to talk about, considering she hasn’t even decided if she’s going to say yes yet.

Rory heads over to talk to Lane, who has bad news: her parents bought her a one-way ticket to Korea for the summer. Yikes.

Lorelai goes to buy a newspaper and spots a bunch of wedding magazines. She ends up grabbing one, which feels like a BIG sign. Miss Patty immediately clocks it and asks if she’s told Luke. Lorelai says no, but she’s about to — and insists it’s not a big deal because they’re just friends.

Naturally, the entire town follows her to Luke’s to watch through the window.

Luke handles it well at first…until he doesn’t. He starts rapid-fire questioning her: Where will you live? Will you have kids? Will you keep working after you’re married? Lorelai is not loving this interrogation.

Friday night dinner time. When they arrive, Emily is unusually chipper — Rory finished in the top 3%! Everyone already knew, which kind of kills the moment, but they celebrate anyway.

During dinner, Lorelai starts fidgeting with the ring and even moves it to her ring finger. This sends her spiraling enough to call Max and try to talk through all the questions Luke brought up. Max asks if these questions mean she’s saying yes…

She comes back to the table, smiles at Rory — and Rory instantly knows what that means. Emily and Richard are completely in the dark. Surely she’ll tell them now, right?

    …Nope.

The next day, Lorelai tells Sookie, who is THRILLED — like, emotional tears thrilled. Jackson sees Sookie’s reaction and immediately panics about what this all means.

Later that night, Dean shows up — surprise! He and Rory are back together, and they kiss. Since they’re official again, Rory invites him to meet her grandparents at a celebratory dinner.

    It goes…poorly.

Richard is not impressed. He grills Dean hard — college plans, grades, career goals — and gives him a whole speech about how special Rory is. Rory defends Dean, and the dinner ends abruptly.

Back home, Lorelai explains to Rory that it wasn’t really about Dean — it’s about the pressure her parents put on Rory. She’s everything they hoped Lorelai would be, and seeing Dean triggers all of that. Lorelai asks Rory to cut them a little slack.

Meanwhile, back at Emily and Richard’s, Richard is still fuming — until the phone rings. It’s Sookie, calling about an engagement party for Lorelai and Max.

And that’s how Emily finds out her daughter is engaged.

She storms into Richard’s office and demands he apologize to Rory. He’s confused — why? Emily explains: if they want Rory to trust them with big news someday, they need to fix this now.

The episode ends with Max giving Lorelai her engagement ring

    BRAN'S MOVIE SYNOPSIS

We find out about a veteran named Bill Bailey who, on D-Day, parachuted in and stumbled upon a ring in the ground. He held onto this ring and cherished it forever. It's been passed down, generation to generation, until it goes to Vanessa, his great granddaughter. She lost it while skiing with her daughter. She's going from antique store to antique store trying to find it. She enters into Howard Miller's place that's holding a Christmas in July sale. As she's looking for the ring, a fella named Ben starts talking to her, asking what she's looking for. Ben is Howard's son. Ben keeps asking about her marital status. She finally opens up about losing her husband, who was also in the military. Ben says he's also a widower. Maybe it's time they both move on.

They start hanging out, flirting and what not. Fast forward a bit and it's the holiday season. Vanessa's daughter comes home and she wants to tell her about Ben but keeps getting interrupted.

We then see the hands of someone opening a box, filled with antiques, including her ring. He sets it off to the side. Turns out those hands belong to Howard. He thinks this ring could be worth a lot of money.

Ben and Vanessa keep hanging out and Vanessa keeps not telling her daughter.

Howard calls his son with good news! He found the diamond in the rough and it's worth $25,000! And a buyer is already lined up.

She finally tells her daughter about Ben and it doesn't go well. As good a time as any to go ahead and go out on their first date.

While out on the date, he realizes that the ring she's been looking for is the ring his dad has found. So he has to rush to the shop to make sure his dad doesn't sell it.

He goes to tell him and he's like it's not her ring, I'm selling it, end of story. But Howard finally takes a look at the engraving, just like Ben asked. He knows it belongs to her, so he goes to give it to Ben.

Ben surprises her at her big event by bringing her the ring and they end up kissing.

    ---

Jacks joins us this week to continue our journey into Hope Valley: 1874.

ABOUT: HOPE VALLEY: 1874 (SEASON 1 EPISODE 6)

A birthday triggers emotions for Rebecca and Sarah.

AIR DATE & NETWORK FOR: HOPE VALLEY: 1874 (SEASON 1 EPISODE 6)

    April 23, 2026 | Hallmark Channel

CAST & CREW OF: HOPE VALLEY: 1874 (SEASON 1 EPISODE 6)
    • Bethany Joy Lenz as Rebecca Clarke
    • Benjamin Ayres as Tom Moore
    BRAN’S HOPE VALLEY: 1874 (SEASON 1 EPISODE 6) SYNOPSIS

The boarding house is really coming together and it's time for Rebecca and Sarah to actually move into a room! She's kinda freaking out over the curtains and Hattie checks on her. Rebecca explains she's trying to stay busy because Jim's birthday is coming up - his first birthday since his passing. Clayton brings in the new table and it's real nice. Alexander shows up and asks if his room is ready yet. She says no but he's like I'll just take it as is. He asks Olivia if she missed him and she says they always do. Rebecca reluctantly agrees to let him stay in the unfinished room. Hattie notices that Sarah is uncomfortable with the mountie around and she says she just didn't know a policeman was going to be staying there.

Alexander tells Rebecca he wants to make the boarding house his base of operations. He promises he'll keep things tidy and pay her an additional $2 a month. But she needs to sign a contract. He says he promises that he's here to protect, not bring danger to their door.

She finds Tom out there trying to break a horse and they have some flirty flirty fun times. But there's an issue - Doyal has dammed Tom's stream while prospecting and it's caused Tom's farm to flood. So Tom applies for a land patent to keep Doyal from prospecting his land. But what he doesn't know is that Doyal also applied. It's going to be up to Alexander to figure out what's what.

Late one night, Rebecca goes to look at a picture of her husband. She's real sad. The next day, finally some good news. The furniture for the boarding house is here! Despite not having all the money she needs to pay for it, the trading guy says he knows she's good for it.

Ned's dad finally finds some gold. He's happy about that. But is disappointed to find out it's only worth $10.

Rebecca is getting a little lightheaded while working and ends up fainting. Luckily Tom is there to catch her as she falls.

He brings her inside and she finally comes to. She says she just stood up too fast.

Alexander tells Tom he's going to hold an emergency hearing to deal with the land dispute.

Olivia goes to check on Sarah. She says they said my dad would be ok too but he never got better. She is worried about her momma and really misses her pa.

Rebecca and Sarah have a heart to heart about Jim and take turns sharing memories of him.

Ned's parents decide they need to try their luck somewhere else and head out to move.

Tom shows up for the meeting and brings other town members who are worried about losing their lands to the prospectors. Doyal shows up and brings a crew of his own. Alexander allows each of them to make a statement as to why they deserve the land. Tom explains that he's been working this land for 3.5 years. It's his. Doyal's daughter explains that the law is that the first person who has worked the land and files an application gets the land. That's the law.

Alexander decides that the law is clear - the first to file gets the land. Doyal did it first. However, in a world of right & wrong, uphold what is right. Tom has been working the land for years before the prospectors arrived. The law is for land that hasn't already been claimed, not in a situation where the land has already been claimed. Tom gets the land but Doyal is able to cross it to get to other streams. Doyal is not pleased and says he's going to take it up to Alexander's superiors.

Ned's parents come to say goodbye to Rebecca. She says wait...you can stay here for free if you run my mess tent. They agree to stay.

The episode ends with Rebecca and Sarah planting an apple seed in honor of Jim. While in Chicago, we see someone who I assume is Jim's mom seeing a drawing of Rebecca and Sarah in the paper.
