Hey folks! I'm on a plane to England/Germany with my students right now but that doesn't mean we can't pump out another episode before 2024 ends!
I've had a bunch of people recently talk about switching careers and looking for new jobs. Today we bring in education consultant Larry Tomiyama. Larry spent 32 year in the Calgary Catholic School District as a Principal and Supervisor and former social science and physed teacher. He is a part time Sessional Professor at St. Marys University in Calgary working in the Department of Education. Larry has his Masters degree in Educational Leadership from Gonzaga University, and his B.Ed from the University of Calgary
Today we talk about:
- What is education consulting? How do you make money out of this?
- What are other career paths Larry has has seen former students pursue?
- What skills do teachers posses that make us valuable?
- What are some pieces of advice for teachers considering switching careers?
Check it out and tell a friend who might be thinking of leaving the profession!
