Charlotte Berman is today's guest. She is a college rower who shares her extensive journey with a knee injury. Charlotte discusses how she first started rowing in high school and eventually committed to Rochester University, but faced significant challenges with persistent knee pain that began during her freshman year. After seeing multiple doctors, physical therapists, and undergoing various treatments including surgery in December to remove a bone spur and benign growth, Charlotte is now in recovery and working to return to lifeguarding while considering her future role in rowing. She describes her experience navigating college life with an injury, including the support she received from coaches, friends, and a therapist specializing in athlete mental health. Charlotte also shared her current involvement with the team as a student assistant coach, helping with novices and data analysis, while maintaining her connection to the sport she loves.
