In Matthew 19:16–22, we see one of the most honest moments in Scripture.
A man comes to Jesus wanting eternal life.
He’s searching. He’s sincere. He wants more.
And Jesus looks at his heart.
Sell what you have… and follow me.
And the man walks away sad.
Why?
Because he chose something over God.
The grief wasn’t random.
It came from knowing the truth… and rejecting it.
And if we’re honest, we do the same thing.
We run to things that cannot fill us.
We chase what feels good, what feels safe, what gives us control.
And then we wonder why we still feel empty.
This episode talks about that kind of grief.
Self grief.
The kind that comes from choosing empty things over the One who gives life.
But not all grief is bad.
Sometimes it’s a signal.
Sometimes it’s God waking your heart up.
Sometimes it’s an invitation to come back.
If you feel that emptiness, don’t ignore it.
It might be pointing you back to Him.
