Many believers think of the secret place as a location: a room, a corner, a prayer closet. That’s fine—but if you stop there, you’ll only ever visit. God is inviting you not just to visit a room, but to dwell with a Person.

We’ve been talking all week about adding fuel—bringing wood: your attention, time, trust, the Word, worship, surrender. But there’s another part of tending the fire we can’t ignore: removing the ashes.

If you need a full band, perfect lights, and your favorite song to worship… you might not be a worshiper. You might just be a concertgoer. Real worship shines brightest when there’s no band, no crowd, and no one to impress—just you and God in the secret place.

There are a lot of people who read the Bible, quote the Bible, post the Bible—but the question is: Is the Bible burning in you? The enemy doesn’t just fear a person who reads Scripture; he fears a person who believes it, chews on it, and lets it transform them in the secret place.

In the New Testament, the altar is you: Your heart, Your thoughts, Your body, Your decisions and Your secret life when nobody’s watching/ So when we talk about the “secret place,” we’re not just talking about a prayer closet. We’re talking about a private altar where the real you meets the real God.

God started the fire in your life. The day you got saved, the day you truly surrendered to Jesus, that spark—that was all Him. But every day after that, He’s given you a role. You don’t start the fire, but you do bring the wood.
