Black women report high levels of psychological stress, with 51% stating it impacts their health and 22% reporting a major impact. Driven by race/gender discrimination, 20% experience chronic health conditions worsened by stress, often experiencing "weathering" or accelerated aging. Despite high stress, Black women are half as likely as white women to seek mental health treatment, with only 13% seeking help for specific disorders.

One of my favorite tools is the 5‑4‑3‑2‑1 grounding technique. You name five things you can see, four you can touch, three you can hear, two you can smell, and one you can taste. It pulls you out of the stress spiral and back into the present moment.
