  • The Seal of Spirit and Water
    2026/05/20

In "The Seal of Spirit and Water", Pastor Ian Thompson presents baptism as a spiritual milestone rather than a mere ritual or a requirement for salvation. He argues that the desire for the sacrament should be driven by the Holy Spirit and observed as a public confirmation of an existing internal faith. The text clarifies that while the method of applying water may vary, the essential element is the believer’s commitment to Christ and their ongoing journey of discipleship. Thompson also addresses the validity of infant baptism, provided it is eventually owned by the individual through later confirmation or personal declaration. Ultimately, the author views the ceremony as a signpost of obedience that marks the beginning of a lifelong process of spiritual growth.

  • The Narrow Gate: Faith, Repentance, and the Cost of Discipleship
    2026/05/16

Pastor Ian Thompson addresses the theological distinction between the universal offer of salvation and the selective nature of eternal life. He argues that while Christ’s sacrifice is available to all, entry into heaven is strictly contingent upon genuine repentance and a sincere commitment to discipleship. The text warns that mere religious affiliation or moral goodness is insufficient, as true salvation requires a complete surrender of one's old life in exchange for a relationship with God. Thompson emphasises that the path to the kingdom is costly and narrow, requiring more than just verbal profession. Ultimately, the source serves as a call for self-examination, asserting that only those transformed by faith and obedient to Christ's teachings will be saved.

  • The Divine Persistence of the Eternal Covenant
    2026/05/13

In this pastoral reflection, Pastor Ian Thompson explores the cyclical history of biblical covenants, illustrating a recurring pattern of divine initiative followed by human failure. The text outlines several historical agreements—ranging from Eden to the Davidic kingdom—noting that while God consistently offered blessing and order, humanity repeatedly succumbed to disobedience and rebellion. Thompson argues that these failures were ultimately resolved through the Covenant of Grace, established at the Cross. In this final agreement, Jesus Christ fulfilled the obligations that humanity could not, shifting the burden of faithfulness from man to God. Consequently, the author suggests that salvation is defined by divine persistence rather than human performance, inviting believers to rest in a promise that is impossible to break
