  • The Bus Shelter at Devil's Fork
    2026/06/08
October 1997. A woman waiting for the school bus on a gravel road in the mountains of West Virginia. The bus comes every morning at 6:47, but this morning it comes early, and the driver is not the driver she knows. The bus is the same yellow—same dents, same crack in the windshield—but the man behind the wheel is wearing a face that doesn't fit. And when the doors open, the smell is wrong. This is a story about a two-mile ride that should have taken ten minutes, about the children who never got off the bus, and about the one who did. Written from a transcript of a conversation Luna had with a woman named Della who still lives in a house with the curtains drawn. #DevilFork #HollowCountry #FexingoHorror #HorrorPodcast #WestVirginia #schoolbus #October1997 #Della #gravelroad #6:47 #driver #wrongface #smell #two-mileride #curtainsdrawn #bluewindbreaker #creek #soloanthology Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo

  • The Bottle Tree on Possum Creek Road
    2026/06/07
In the late summer of 2018, Luna finds herself on a back road in Buchanan County, Virginia, following a tip about a woman who has not left her property in fifteen years. The woman's name is Ruby Holler, and she builds bottle trees—elaborate structures of glass and wire that she claims catch more than just light. As Luna sits on Ruby's porch and listens, the story that unfolds is not about the trees themselves, but about what Ruby caught one night in 2003, and what has been whispering to her from inside a cobalt-blue bottle ever since. A slow, quiet episode about grief, vigilance, and the price of keeping something trapped. #BottleTrees #PossumCreekRoad #BuchananCounty #Virginia #RubyHoller #CobaltBlueBottle #AppalachianFolklore #WhisperingGlass #Grief #Vigil #Trapped #2003 #LateSummer #FexingoHorror #HorrorPodcast #HollowCountry #Luna #Anthology Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo

  • The Widow at Paint Fork Gap
    2026/06/06
November of 2019, I was tracing an old postal route through the mountains near Paint Fork Gap, a place that exists mostly on paper now. The road ended at a house that shouldn't have been there — hand-split oak logs, a tin roof, a porch light burning at three in the afternoon. The woman inside, Delia, offered me coffee and told me she'd been waiting for someone to bring her mail. She hadn't left the property in forty-two years. I sat at her kitchen table while she told me about the highway department's survey in '77, the letter they left pinned to her door, and the government men who came back every spring to take measurements. She showed me the letters she'd written over the decades, replies to the ones she never received. When I left, she asked me to mail them. I still haven't. I don't know what address to put on the envelope, and part of me is afraid of what might write back. #FexingoHorror #HorrorPodcast #HollowCountry #PaintForkGap #DeliaSloan #November2019 #RuralIsolation #UnsentLetters #GovernmentSurvey #LostHighways #MountainStories #AppalachianGothic #SlowBurnHorror #AtmosphericHorror #SoloNarration #LunaReads #ListenerFunded #BuyMeACoffee Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo

  • The Census Taker at Spruce Pine Gap
    2026/06/05
In October 1997, a young census taker named Della Mayhew drives up into the mountains of Yancey County, North Carolina, to verify a remote address on Spruce Pine Gap Road. The house at the end of the gravel lane is not on any map she has seen. The woman who answers the door is expecting her — has been expecting her for a long time. Inside, the rooms are wrong: too many doors, a grandfather clock ticking in a language Della doesn't recognize, a photograph on the mantel that shows Della herself, aged fifty years, standing beside a woman she has never met. The census taker learns that some houses are not built to be found. Some questions should not be answered. And some roads, once you drive them, you never truly leave. This is a story about the places that wait for us — and the version of ourselves that already lives there. #SprucePineGap #CensusTaker #DellaMayhew #YanceyCounty #NorthCarolina #October1997 #RemoteHouse #WrongDimensions #GrandfatherClock #Photograph #TimeLoop #DoorsThatLeadElsewhere #MountainHorror #AppalachianHorror #SoloNarrative #FexingoHorror #HorrorPodcast #LunaReads Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo

  • The Trail to Panther Den Gap
    2026/06/04
In October of 2019, I hiked to a place called Panther Den Gap, up on the Tennessee–North Carolina line, looking for an old homestead I'd read about in a county history book. The trail was overgrown, the rhododendron closed in, and by the time I reached the gap, the light was wrong — that pale grey you get just before sundown when the sky goes flat. The cabin was still there, but the door was hanging open, and inside, someone had left a fire burning in the hearth and a single plate on the table, still warm. I waited. No one came back. But every time I looked out the window, I thought I saw a figure standing at the treeline, watching, and when I finally left, I found fresh boot prints in the mud — leading from the woods to the cabin door, none leading away. This is the story of what I found at Panther Den Gap, and what I still don't understand. #PantherDenGap #AppalachianHorror #AbandonedCabin #Tennessee #NorthCarolina #HollowCountry #FexingoHorror #HorrorPodcast #SoloNarration #CreepyHike #October #2019 #BootPrints #Homestead #WarmPlate #TreelineFigure #Unsolved #Atmospheric Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo

  • The Crier at Dove Creek Church
    2026/06/03
Late autumn, 1993. A traveling evangelist named Eli Sutter arrives in the small town of Minton, Tennessee, setting up a revival tent at the edge of Dove Creek. His sermons draw crowds, but something follows him—a ragged, sobbing figure that appears at the back of the tent each night, weeping so loudly it drowns out his words. Luna's great-aunt, who attends the first three nights, becomes obsessed with the crying figure no one else seems to see. When she goes to confront it, the encounter leaves her bedridden, whispering about a debt older than the hills. A slow-burn, intimate horror story about witness, guilt, and the things that refuse to be preached away. #HollowCountry #FexingoHorror #HorrorPodcast #Appalachia #DoveCreek #MintonTennessee #RevivalTent #EliSutter #GreatAunt #WeepingFigure #Debt #Sermon #1993 #Autumn #Rhododendron #KeroseneLantern #WoodenBridge #BlackCreek Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo

  • The Paving Crew on Wolfpen Fork Road
    2026/06/02
In the summer of 2019, Luna's uncle told her about a state road crew that repaved a stretch of Wolfpen Fork Road in Floyd County — a winding two-lane that hugged the side of a mountain so steep the sun didn't hit it until noon. The crew worked through August heat, pouring asphalt over a section that had been gravel since the thirties. But the foreman noticed something strange: every morning, the fresh pavement was scarred with deep parallel grooves, like something heavy had been dragged across it in the dark. They set up a trail cam. What it captured wasn't a bear or a truck. It was a man in a long coat, walking backward, dragging a chain from each wrist. He never lifted his head. He never stopped. The crew quit the next day. Luna went looking for him — she found where the chain marks led, and what they led to, she still cannot unsee. #FexingoHorror #HorrorPodcast #WolfpenFork #FloydCounty #RoadCrew #Appalachia #Asphalt #ChainMarks #BackwardWalker #TrailCam #LanternLight #HollowCountry #NoCoHost #SoloNarration #LunaReads #MountainRoad #SummerHorror #UnseenThings Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo

  • The Bargain at Brown's Creek General
    2026/06/01
Autumn 1984, a dry September in the small Tennessee town of Dennis Cove. Luna's grandmother sends her to Brown's Creek General for a can of creamed corn, but the store has been closed for three years—boarded up since old Mrs. Brown passed. Still, the light is on inside. A figure in a floral apron stands at the register, silent, holding a receipt that's been yellowing in the window since 1981. Luna doesn't know what she bought that night, or what she traded to get it. She only knows she walked home with the corn, and that ever since, the road from Brown's Creek to her grandmother's house feels longer each time she tries to leave. #BrownsCreekGeneral #DennisCove #AppalachianHorror #GeneralStore #TheBargain #CreamedCorn #MrsBrown #Autumn1984 #FogRising #KeroseneLantern #Rhododendron #HollowCountry #FexingoHorror #HorrorPodcast #StandaloneEpisode #QuietDread #Unsettling #SouthernGothic Keep every episode free: buymeacoffee.com/fexingo
