概要
This week we are continuing the book, titled "How God Makes Men" by Patrick Morley.
Chapter 4 talks about the story of Gideon and The Principal of an unexpected leader. Honestly, sometimes when God calls us we feel inadequate and bound by our weaknesses. However, God is not limited by our weaknesses and will often shine through them, using them to glorify his name. The story of Gideon captures this perfectly, a man who was from the weakest clan, and the least of his family.
God used Gideon to rally 35,000 people, but then said "that's too many" and reduced the troop to a mere 300 men. Gideon was unsure if he was still the man for the job, and asked God 3 times to confirm. Each time, God answered, even up until the very last minute, right before the moment of executing God's plan, God revealed to Gideon a confirmation that Gideon was the one God had chosen to execute his plan.
Let's be honest, we all feel like Gideon when God calls on us, "really? Me? Are... are you sure? isn't there anyone else?" and that's OK. It's alright to ask God to clarify or verify that he called us into something. We need to realize that if God is with us, no one can be against us!
Even if we only have 300 men, some torches and some empty jars.
