A domestic passenger flight in 2007 disappeared over the ocean during its journey across Indonesia, triggering an extensive search operation. Weeks later, the wreckage and flight recorders were recovered from deep water, allowing investigators to reconstruct the final moments of the flight.
The data showed that the aircraft experienced a malfunction in its navigation system, which diverted the pilots’ attention during a critical phase of flight.
