🧘♀️ Dhyana is the foundational state behind nearly all advanced spiritual practice—whether in Yoga, Vedanta, Buddhism, Tantra, or Western Magic. It’s not a technique. It’s a state of consciousness that emerges when specific inner conditions are met.
In this video, we explore dhyana in detail: what it is, how it arises, what it feels like, and why it matters. Drawing from the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, the jhanas of Theravada Buddhism, and mystical literature across traditions, we describe the path that leads to dhyana through the six preparatory limbs of classical Yoga: Yama, Niyama, Asana, Pranayama, Pratyahara, and Dharana.
We also reflect on sensory decoupling, altered perception, the “unstruck sound” (anāhata), and the powerful role of techniques like trataka, kaya sthairyam, and floatation tanks in helping practitioners access this meditative state.
