Old Stormalong was a giant sailor standing four fathoms tall, born from a hurricane and master of the massive ship Tuscarora. His legendary life is marked by three mysterious endings. In the first, his immense hunger led him to feast on six great white sharks, causing him to transform into a shark that still roams the seven seas. In the second, he challenged a steamship to a race across the Atlantic, winning by using his own breath to fill the sails when the wind died. This feat so impressed Davy Jones that Stormalong was crowned a Lord of the Sea. The final legend tells of his heroism during a fierce Florida hurricane, where he saved nearly a thousand men by lifting their sinking ships onto his own deck. While untangling his sails afterward, a final gust swept him into the clouds toward a heavenly reward. Regardless of his true end, his spirit remains with every sailor who hauls a line.
