Kicking off this second episode is my interview with Naoko Yamano of the legendary, all-female punk band Shonen Knife. The Japanese based band has been playing for over four decades and besides solo shows, has opened up for Nirvana, the Ramones and more.
When this interview first aired back in February of 2023, the band just released their record called Our Best Place—and they haven’t released anything since. They're still touring, with shows mostly in Japan. In this interview we talk about the history punk music, her influences and why she writes about yummy food so much.
