  • Perseverance The Faith That Stays When Feelings Leave
    2026/04/22

What do you do when you don’t feel strong anymore? Because the truth is—feelings come and go.

    But perseverance?

    That’s a decision.

    • You don’t need to feel strong to keep going.
    • You just need to be willing.
    • Willing to take the next step.
Willing to do what today requires.
Willing to stay, even when everything in you wants to step back.
    • Because perseverance isn’t built in the big, powerful moments.
    • It’s built in the quiet ones.
    • The unseen ones.
    • The moments where nobody is applauding you…
      but you keep going anyway.
    • For me, that has looked like the daily responsibilities of caregiving.
    • The routine.
      The repetition.
The emotional weight that doesn’t always get acknowledged.
    • And choosing—again and again—not to walk away from what I’ve been called to.
    • Not because it’s easy.
    • But because it matters.

  • How Christians can be influenced by Demons
    2025/06/09

    SECTION 1: DEFINING THE TERMS

First, let’s clarify what we mean.

    • Possession is full control of a person by a demon.
This is not possible for a Spirit-filled believer. The Holy Spirit and a demon cannot occupy the same dwelling.
    • But Christians can be oppressed or influenced—that means external attacks, internal struggles, or repeated spiritual pressure.

    Ephesians 4:27 warns:
“Do not give the devil a foothold.”

A foothold is access. If we allow it—through sin, wounds, or ignorance—the enemy can influence how we think, feel, or act.

SECTION 2: WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS

    Let’s go to the Word.

    • 2 Corinthians 10:4–5 tells us we’re in a spiritual war.

“We take every thought captive to obey Christ.”
This means demonic influence can affect our thinking, even as believers.

    • 1 Peter 5:8–9 says:

“Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion…”

Why warn believers if they couldn’t be affected?
Because we can be influenced—but we don’t have to be controlled.

SECTION 3: BIBLICAL EXAMPLES OF BELIEVER INFLUENCE

    1. Peter – Matthew 16:22–23
Jesus says to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan!”
Peter was a follower of Christ—but his thoughts were influenced by the enemy.
    2. Ananias & Sapphira – Acts 5:1–3
Peter says, “Why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit?”
They were part of the early church—but opened a door to deception.
    3. Paul – 2 Corinthians 12:7
He refers to a “messenger of Satan sent to torment me.”
Even Paul wasn’t immune to attack—but he found grace to endure.

SECTION 4: HOW BELIEVERS OPEN DOORS

The enemy needs permission. Here are common access points:

    • Unforgiveness
    • Fear and anxiety
    • Sexual sin
    • Pride or rebellion
    • Occult practices (even “harmless” ones)
    • Generational sin
    • Trauma or soul wounds

The good news is—we can shut the doors through repentance and deliverance.

SECTION 5: HOW TO RESIST DEMONIC INFLUENCE

James 4:7 gives us the key: “Submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee.”

    Daily tools for believers:

    • The Word of God – renew your mind (Romans 12:2)
    • Prayer and worship – draw close to God
    • Confession and repentance – shut every open door
    • Community and accountability – walk in the light

  • When You Feel Like Giving up
    2025/06/06

Narrative: Welcome to Insights on Healing Podcast. Our Episode title is, “When You Feel Like Giving Up: You will learn that your feeling is a trick of the enemy and God is at your side.

I am Joan M. Blake, an author, and I am your host. Insights on Healing Podcast includes the reading of scripture, praying, reading from one of my books, or interviewing individuals who found purpose in their lives through the healing power of God.

The purpose of this podcast is to provide content which brings emotional healing and restoration to mothers who have had a difficult past and are currently experiencing difficulties. A focal point of this podcast is reflecting on scripture verses and praying for my audience. I pray as you listen to this episode, that God would bless you with inner strength, purpose, and provide you with the hope that you have been longing for.

What is your situation like that makes you feel like giving up. If you are a student, you have a lot of classes and papers to finish and you feel overwhelmed, you may be in a marriage and you are feeling lost and bewildered, you may be a mother or a caregiver and you are burned out. Whatever your situation, you feel lost and you feel like giving up, but that is not God’s answer for you regardless of the situation you are in. I want you to look at the following list of five scriptures that should encourage you to look up:

    1. Isaiah 41:10 (NIV)“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

    2. Galatians 6:9 (NIV)“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”

    3. Psalm 34:17-18 (NIV)“The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”

    4. 2 Corinthians 4:16-18 (NIV)“Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”

5.Philippians 4:13 (NIV)“I can do all this through him who gives me strength.”

  • Give God Your Worries Even When You Are at Your worse
    2025/05/22

Narrative: Welcome to Insights on Healing Podcast. Our Episode title is, Give God your worries even when you are at your worse. You will learn how God is your refuge.

I am reading Psalm 61 verses 1-4 from the NIV version of the BIBle

    Hear my cry, O God;
    listen to my prayer.

2 From the ends of the earth I call to you,
    I call as my heart grows faint;
lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
3 For you have been my refuge,
a strong tower against the foe.

4 I long to dwell in your tent forever
and take refuge in the shelter of your wings.[b]
    5 For you, God, have heard my vows;
you have given me the heritage of those who fear your name.

Reflection: We notice that this is a Psalm of David who called upon God numerous times when he was in trouble. He is asking God to hear his cry and tells God he has called him from afar, explaining the great need that he has, and reminding God that he has been his refuge and strong tower against his enemies and how he yearns to be in God’s tent and be in the shelter of God’s wings. He continues to let God know that God has heard his vows and God has given him the heritage because he fears God.

Let us pray: Father like David, we bow before you and reverenced your name, that is higher than every other name in heaven and earth. We call upon you and bring our life issues before you and ask for you to help us Lord, God. We ask for healing not only for our children but for those around the world who are ill and suffering from lack of food and care. We ask for a breakthrough Lord, for you are able to hear and answer our cries. Thank you for listening and answering our prayers in the name of Jesus, Amen.

  • Why is Grace God’s Free Gift to Us?
    2025/04/25
Narrative: Welcome to Insights on Healing Podcast. Our Episode title is, Why is Grace God’s free gift to us? You will learn the urgency of accepting Jesus in your life as Lord and Savior. Reading from the NIV version : Romans 5: verses 14-21 14 Nevertheless, death reigned from the time of Adam to the time of Moses, even over those who did not sin by breaking a command, as did Adam, who is a pattern of the one to come. 15 But the gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died by the trespass of the one man, how much more did God’s grace and the gift that came by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, overflow to the many! 16 Nor can the gift of God be compared with the result of one man’s sin: The judgment followed one sin and brought condemnation, but the gift followed many trespasses and brought justification. 17 For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ! 18 Consequently, just as one trespass resulted in condemnation for all people, so also one righteous act resulted in justification and life for all people. 19 For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous. 20 The law was brought in so that the trespass might increase. But where sin increased, grace increased all the more, 21 so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Let us reflect on the passage I just read: We understand that through Adam’s disobedience, sin entered the world, bringing death to all humanity (v. 14-15). This emphasizes that sin is universal, and its consequences—spiritual separation from God—affect everyone. Jesus Christ, the second Adam brought the gift of grace and eternal life through His obedience and sacrifice (v. 15-17). Unlike Adam, whose act condemned many, Jesus’ act of righteousness justifies and brings life to many. We see a difference with sin and death with the free and undeserved gift of grace, which is not earned but it is given because of God’s love. Jesus is that benefactor. He paid the debt of sin with His life, offering us freedom and eternal life. But just like the debtor must accept the gift, we must accept Jesus to experience salvation. Urgency: Accept this gift because it replaces condemnation with forgiveness and life Grace overcomes sin’s power; Where sin increased, grace abounded even more (v. 20-21). Grace reigns through righteousness, leading to eternal life through Jesus Christ. No sin is too great for God’s grace. The abundance of grace means that no one is beyond redemption if they turn to Jesus. Let us pray: Father, we come today understanding your hand of love and grace that you are extending to us. We know that only you can change our situation of sin and replace it with grace and eventual salvation and eternal life when we accept Jesus into our lives. Help us Lord, God, to know that you are calling us to receive this gift of love now and we should receive it before it is too late in Jesus name, amen Outro: Thank you for listening to “Insights on Healing Podcast. • How and Why Do Demons Enter in a person’s Mind and Body
    2025/04/08
Narrative: Welcome to Insights on Healing Podcast. Our Episode title is: How and why do demons enter into a person’s mind and body. You will learn how to prevent this from happening. For the next eight weeks, I will be discussing demonology But Today, I will be focusing on how and why demons enter a person’s mind and body. Demons seek access to a person’s life to influence, oppress, or even possess them. There are various ways this can happen: A. Through Open Doors (Ephesians 4:27) “Neither give place to the devil.” (Ephesians 4:27, KJV) Paul warns believers not to give the devil an opportunity or foothold. When a person engages in sin, trauma, or disobedience to God’s word, they may create an opening that allows demons to enter and take control. Here are some common ways this happens: Unrepented Sin – Engaging in sinful behaviors (such as sexual immorality, hatred, envy, idolatry, or substance abuse) can invite demonic oppression (Galatians 5:19-21).Unforgiveness and Bitterness – Holding onto resentment creates an entry point (2 Corinthians 2:10-11). Anyone you forgive, I also forgive. And what I have forgiven—if there was anything to forgive—I have forgiven in the sight of Christ for your sake,Occult Practices – Participation in witchcraft, fortune-telling, Ouija boards, or new-age spirituality opens doors to demonic influence (Deuteronomy 18:10-12). Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord; because of these same detestable practices the Lord your God will drive out those nations before you.Addictions – Substance abuse, pornography, or other addictive behaviors can enslave a person spiritually (1 Corinthians 6:12). 12 “I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but I will not be mastered by anything.Trauma and Emotional Wounds – Deep wounds, especially from abuse or rejection, can make a person vulnerable to demonic oppression.Negative Words and Curses – Speaking negativity over oneself or receiving word curses from others can invite demonic bondage (Proverbs 18:21). “The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” Generational Curses – Demonic influence can pass through family bloodlines due to past sins or covenants (Exodus 20:5). You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, B. When a Demon Returns (Luke 11:24-26) “When an impure spirit comes out of a person, it goes through arid places seeking rest and does not find it. Then it says, ‘I will return to the house I left.’ When it arrives, it finds the house swept clean and put in order. Then it goes and takes seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there. And the final condition of that person is worse than the first.” (Luke 11:24-26, NIV) This passage describes a person who was once delivered from demonic influence but failed to remain filled with the Holy Spirit and God’s Word. Key insights include: Demons Wander and Seek Rest – When cast out, demons seek a new home because they desire a host.An Empty House is Vulnerable – If a person does not stay spiritually strong (through prayer, scripture, and obedience to God), the demon can return. The Return is Worse – The returning demon brings more wicked spirits, worsening the person’s condition. Search your hearts to find out where you are now. Are you still angry, unforgiving, bitter, still experiencing traumatic feelings? Are you still believing those word curses that have been spoken over you? Are you still addicted? Are you still dealing with occult practices? Let’s pray. Father, we come humbly before you asking for your forgiveness for the sins we have committed, the generational curses passed down from past generations, word curses, rejection, occult practices, unforgiveness, and bitterness, and everything that has hindered our spiritual growth. We renounce every sin. We cancel and break the hold that the enemy has on us, and we look to you for deliverance and new life that only you can give in Jesus’ name, Amen. • Why You should Sing, Shout, and Thank God
    2025/01/25

Narrative: Welcome to Insights on Healing Podcast. Our Episode title is, why you should sing, shout, and thank God. You will learn the reasons for worshiping God.

A focal point of this podcast is reflecting on scripture and praying for my audience. I pray as you listen to this episode, that God would bless you with inner strength, purpose, and provide you with the hope that you have been longing for.

    Psalm 95

    1 Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord;
let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation.
2 Let us come before him with thanksgiving
and extol him with music and song.

3 For the Lord is the great God,
the great King above all gods.
4 In his hand are the depths of the earth,
and the mountain peaks belong to him.
5 The sea is his, for he made it,
and his hands formed the dry land.

6 Come, let us bow down in worship,
    let us kneel before the Lord our Maker;
7 for he is our God
and we are the people of his pasture,
    the flock under his care.

Reflection: We come into God’s presence alone or with other believers singing, shouting, thanking God, and worshiping God for who He is. He is the author and finisher of our faith; he is the king of kings, Lord of Lords, and Lord over heaven and earth. Even the mountains, the sea, the lands, the sky, the moon, and the birds of the air to mention a few, belong to Him for he made them all. He made us also; we are his flock, and He came to set us free from our sins. Let us kneel down and worship him, not only when we need to receive from him, but to worship him for who He is, Our God who loves us.

    Let us Pray:

Father, we come to you acknowledging you as our God, the Mighty One, the one who sent Jesus to die on the cross and set us free from our sins. We recognize that we could not free ourselves, but it was by your grace that we were set free. We know the time is now that we need to reverence you as our Lord and Savior, our king of Kings and Lord of Lords, that you have full control, power, and ownership of the heavens and the earth, and seek your face with joy, with shouting, and praise for who you are and not for what we can receive from you. We ask that you humble us Lord and remove our selfishness and pride that keep us from worshiping you and we pray this in Jesus’ name, amen.
