Minus tides, the sound of songbirds, ravens nesting, and bees! Summer appears to be just around the corner on Kodiak Island and just in time for the Crab Festival. Life on Alaska's Emerald Isle, Kodiak!

Oops! This is actually the May 15th show, not June! Strange weather patterns and cooler temperatures continue in Kodiak, leaving us to wonder when the wildflowers will begin to bloom. But the grasses and beach greens are growing, so there is hope!

Despite chilly nights, the greening of Kodiak continues. Gray whales have been spotted at Narrow Cape - time for a road trip!

Beach rye is starting to shoot up, and the dandelions have appeared in some places - the welcomed, but slow warming of Kodiak is beginning.
