  • Talking PTSD and Faith with Sarah Magie
    2024/04/15

Sarah and I have known each other for a long time. We both pursued the ministry: me in parish ministry, and her in the military chaplaincy. Sarah was diagnosed with PTSD, not from combat exposure, but as the result of harassment from within the military. This not only challenged her faith in the institution of the military, but also her religious faith as well. Her story is one of hope and overcoming. I hope you enjoy our conversation.

Erin and I were introduced through a mutual connection. She has a powerful story of recovery from being in a relationship with a narcissist. The experience resulted in her having PTSD, and today she is flourishing. It was an honour to hear her story. Erin's story was also included in a book entitled Speak Out and Help Her Recover compiled by Amanda L. Willett. It is available on Indigo at https://l.facebook.com/l.php?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.indigo.ca%2Fen-ca%2Fspeak-out-and-help-recover%2F9781738783441.html%3FsearchType%3Dproducts%26searchTerm%3DSpeak%2520out%2520and%26relatedTerms%3Dspeak%2520out%2520and%252Cspeak%2520out%2520and%2520help%2520her%26fbclid%3DIwAR07KNKTe5f-0nZZ5xbCstreMvaHqHAM_YBdd4Hi6mIt4Uc2WucU34Jvacs_aem_ATlrFBHZQwhXej57HD2dOqx2_lUR2r5HGtTU1PBYqdrycz5MP1mc0CpNsou4T6Jk0ptrbLS3J73QNBOaiDN5-eIL&h=AT0DBhRQRHHHamyPpMRlyywURTtmx323qi27BsQgmeo76SEb4-ewXafjcswBuRZeGBMCtO9Cw5KqQDSAzYCu5O7FRi5YwczQkjmIGWkNQmJSsUPjcXW0TLLdR-HjwUNWhwX-BQ

    2024/03/09

I don't have many rules, but one of them is that I only care about the opinions of a maximum of 10 people in my life. This list is restricted to the people I really love, and who love me back. For a long time, I was not even on my own list. Now I am number one on that list. Who is on your list? Are you number one on your list?
