Uchenna Ugwu is a Nigerian screenwriter, filmmaker, and Igbo culture scholar. She has a rich portfolio in the Nigerian film industry (Nollywood), with story development and screenwriting credits for both film and television, including 13+ television shows for Multichoice’s Africa Magic and Showmax.

Her writing credits include: Cheta'm, Wura, Riona, and Nwaanyi!

Her debut short film, I Too, Crave Death, is a multi-award-winning, indigenous language film that explores the complexities of mother-daughter relationships and examines themes of mental health, family dynamics, grief, and suicidal ideation.
