Why does Jesus’ death save us?
For centuries, believers have wrestled with this question, some pointing to mystery, others to love alone. In this Bible study, we explore how Scripture presents the cross as both loving and logical, rooted in God’s justice, God’s law, and God’s decision to take responsibility for humanity’s failure.
This lesson walks through the rule of law in Scripture, the sanctuary system, and the powerful truth that Jesus did not abolish justice; He fulfilled it. Christ died as King, accepting responsibility for the broken law so that we could receive life.
We examine how the Bible teaches that salvation is offered to all, but applied through union with Christ, dying with Him, rising with Him, and living in obedience. The cross is where justice and mercy meet, and the invitation still stands today.
