We change venues from the White House to the Apex. Not sure there is more a contrast possible really for a rematch from the Peak of Rizin FC, Kape vs Horiguchi II. Kape is out for revenge as very early in his career he took the L in this matchup and now at 32 years old and probably the best version of himself.........is it time to take the equalizer?

The rest of the card is mostly filler, not bad fights to be clear, they mostly make sense, at least one fighter is of interest and some of them should be fun. Just not really needle movers.

The UFC Fight and Sportswash fest is over and there is good and bad.

The good was the fights, violent, finish heavy and a classic main event. And faint praise but the overhanded Trump glazing wasn't as bad as I expected.

The downside was commentary was just bad. Lots of the glazing of the event to make it special but it's just outside at a unique venue but nothing really comes across in terms of atmosphere. And while there was less glazing than I expected it's still a sportwashing affair behind a paywall.

Let's see what we learned about the fighters.

The UFC takes a cannonball into the Sports Washing pool. It's time to glaze the President with a card packed with Sizzle, sexy looking fights at first glance. But not actual technical intrigue. Which I suppose makes sense given the nature of the card.

2 title fights, a heavyweight class, Sean O'Malley and of course American heros Bo Nickal and Michael Chandler.

We're back to the Apex and honestly if this is the standard of Apex card? I am 100% here for it. Former champ in the main even, main card with fights that ask solid questions and some good action as well. There are 2 terrible fights on the card but such is the state of WMMA unfortunately.

UFC heads to Macau with a card I admit will be likely fun and certainly violent but as a fight nerd the lack of questions to be answered does bug me. I fully admit that's a me problem.

Usyk/Verhoeven happened. It was way better than I expected and it has spawned a lovely selection of conspiracy theories. Very good performance from Verhoeven, probably a sign that Usyk should be appreciated while he's here cause the end is marching closer.

And finally MVP succeeded commercially. That's undeniable. Time will tell if it actually means anything.
