This year has flown by, without a doubt, and looking back over the summer, there are so many things that happened! All of these things are wonderful, and I am looking forward to telling you more stories, but these have been overshadowed by one event in particular. In March I lost my best friend, and I needed to share this with you in order to fully face the situation. I wish I had time to tell you far more, but such is the way of the world.

Tomatos, Bacon, Lettuce, and White Bread... What more do you need in the summer time??? Not much if you ask me! How does one go about building a sandwich? This Podcast episode will NOT answer that question, but it will take a look at knife sharpening and how the process of sharpening a knife to build a sandwich relates to life.

Every turkey hunting story has a special twist before resolving in glory! Some days, patience is all that is required to finish a hunt. Other days, guts are needed to finish the job. Hold still, yet, and there are are rare occasions where the activity will go from 0- 80 mph faster than a hot rod on a 1/4 mile drag strip!!! Today we will highlight one such story with a very special guest, Uncle Ray Mathis, from Vicksburg, Mississippi!

Dean and Nellie Caldwell are unassuming individuals at first glance, and you would never guess the depth of their story. Dean Caldwell, AKA Pawpaw, had a long standing career as a Civil Engineer working along the Mississippi River, while Nellie Caldwell supported him along the way, raising a picture perfect family! They have made tremendous strides on a national level, a statewide level, and a local level in support of various projects of all types, and their love for people drives them to keep going.

What happens when you are overwhelmed and you don't know what to do? Have you ever imagined yourself successfully juggling all of the curveballs life could throw at you? Is there a way to stay positive when everything seems to be coming to a head? What does turkey hunting have to do with any of this???

In this week's episode, you will see a new side to this show. Even though things on the outside might look prim and proper, there are always battles that we are fighting. Sometimes God reveals His plans to us and other times, we are not aware of all of the work that He is doing. The third turkey I killed highlights the importance of persistence, patience, and faith, and in the end, we were successful! But what paths have we had to walk to reach success???
