概要

Mom Meets Machine (M3) is a podcast exploring lived experience of how artificial intelligence is reshaping family life, child development, and the psychosocial experience of parenting. Hosted by two moms and experts from complementary fields—an interdisciplinary data science professional and licensed clinical psychologist. The show bridges technical innovation with human experience. Each episode will help parents, educators, and caregivers understand technology and AI’s role in shaping the next generation while offering practical, empathetic guidance. We will talk with experts about how families can approach the AI-future with critical and creative thinking rather than fear.

M³ takes listeners inside our emotional and developmental realities. We’ll explore what happens when technology and AI tools impact our homes, healthcare, and even playtime. We discuss trust in AI and how it may influence children’s identity, future, and family dynamics. We’ll also offer strategies to reduce decision fatigue, push back against “perfect parent” pressures, and build resilience.

Our goal is to equip families not just to cope with AI-reality, but to actively shape their relationship with it in healthy, empowering ways, combating fear and anxiety holistically.

In this episode, we examine the evolving nature of trust in artificial intelligence (AI) and its implications for human decision-making. They introduce the idea of “distrust and verify” as a more appropriate stance toward AI systems, contrasting it with the traditional “trust but verify” approach often applied to human relationships. The discussion highlights the risks of automation bias, our tendency to over-reliance on AI outputs, which can erode critical thinking and independent judgment. The speakers also reflect on how trust is being reshaped in the digital age, particularly for younger generations who are coming of age with AI and algorithmic systems as primary sources of information.
