  • How to Unlock £10,000+ in Your Business (Without More Clients)
    2026/04/23

Most people think scaling means more clients. I don't.
I think scaling is better clients, better systems, and better monetisation, so you can grow without your life getting eaten alive.

In this episode, I'm showing you how to unlock thousands of pounds in your business without a single new customer.

It starts with a simple reframe…

McDonald's are the kings of the upsell. "Do you want fries with that?" is estimated to generate a HUGE chunk of revenue, and the margins are wild.
So the question becomes: what's YOUR version of "fries with that"?

The only ways to grow a business (and what most people ignore)
Get more customers (often the hardest one)
Get customers to spend more (upsells / premium options / add-ons)
Get customers to stay longer (retention / recurring revenue / service plans)
Turn customers into raving fans who refer people (reviews + referrals on purpose)

I break down real examples of how this looks in the real world, trades, gyms, subscriptions, service plans, premium options, and why most businesses cap their income because they have no next step, no follow-up, and a forgettable experience.

If your business feels like constant chasing, constant selling, constant pressure… don't assume it's a marketing problem.
Check the business model first: Do people spend more? Do they stay? Do they refer?

And the "mad part"? A lot of this is solved by one thing: ASKING.

  • Decision Fatigue Is Wrecking Your Business (Fix It Like This)
    2026/04/16

    Overwhelm isn't a workload problem. It's a decision problem.
And the second you start making clear decisions, overwhelm starts to disappear.

Welcome to Episode 9 of Paul Mort Talks Sh*t (Solo).

I've been missing for a couple of weeks (no sound on a "killer episode", then I got sick, then events… chaos). And ironically… that made this episode even more relevant: overwhelm.

In this one, I break down why business owners feel overwhelmed (at every level), why it doesn't show up by accident, and the simple system I use to stop arriving there, and to shift out of it fast when it hits.

    What I cover:
👉🏼Why overwhelm isn't "too much to do", it's unmade decisions + unclear priorities
👉🏼The idea that overwhelm is the feeling you must do everything… because you haven't decided what matters most
👉🏼The fastest reset: get it out of your head and onto paper (in your head = stress, on paper = a puzzle)

The 30-point scoring system I use to decide what matters:
👉🏼Reality filter: What breaks if I don't do this this week? (deadline vs preference)
👉🏼Progress filter: Does this move my main goal forward by Friday?
👉🏼Calendar filter: Will I actually protect time for this?
What to do with low-score tasks: delete it / park it / delegate it / schedule it
The weekly non-negotiable: your Key 3, protected, defended, finished

If you're overwhelmed right now, you don't need "more time"… you need to decide what matters, and then act like it matters.

  • Progress Feels Invisible… Until You Do This (90-Day Review)
    2026/04/09

Most people completely misjudge their progress… because they judge it by how it feels.
And progress can feel invisible… right up until you sit down and REVIEW it properly.

Welcome to episode 8 of Paul Mort Talks Sh*t (Solo).

Every 90 days, I sit down with no phone, no distractions and do a proper life + business review because you can't expect real self-belief without evidence.

Q1 for me felt like a grind: slow progress, slow sales, I got sick twice, picked up a knee injury, and it felt like I'd missed a third of the quarter.
But when I actually reviewed it? It turned out to be a great quarter, and that's the point: what it feels like isn't always what's happening.

In this episode, I walk you through a short, cliff-notes version of the 90-day review, why most people avoid it (because they don't want to face the truth), and why reviewing stops you from repeating the same cycle over and over.

I also share key lessons from my quarter, including:
👉🏼We don't fail… we stop (and I never miss two)
👉🏼If you don't slow down, your body will force you to
👉🏼Recovery matters more as you get older and small changes (like not scrolling at night) can make a massive difference
👉🏼The next level is often subtraction, not adding more

If you do the review properly, it takes about 20 minutes, and you'll stop guessing, stop hoping, and start building real clarity and momentum.

  • Why Your Offer Isn't Selling: You're Not the Obvious Choice
    2026/03/19

If people aren't buying, it's usually not your offer… it's that you don't look like the obvious choice.

In this episode, I'll show you how to fix that by building real authority (not "viral" nonsense).

Welcome to Episode 7 of Paul Mort Talks Sh*t (Solo).

This week I'm talking about authority because most of us aren't posting online to be influencers… we're doing it to get clients and customers.

And whether people say it out loud or not, they're always asking:

    - Why should I listen to you?
    - Why should I trust you?
    - Why should I buy from you?

If your content isn't converting, this is usually why: you're not answering those questions clearly enough… so you don't become the obvious choice.

    The Authority Engine (4 parts)

In this episode, I break down my framework for building authority faster:

∙Visibility - consistently showing up with useful, educational content.
∙Signals - stage time, podcasts, collabs, awards, network… credibility signals that make people trust you quicker.
∙Assets - things that compound (books, reports, video series, tools) that prove you know your stuff over time.
∙Positioning - one painful problem you solve, explained simply, repeated consistently.

I also talk about the trap people fall into, thinking authority is a blue tick, trend-hopping, and chasing virality… when real authority is built through education, proof, and consistency.

‼️Action for you: score yourself out of 10 on each one:
    Visibility / Signals / Assets / Positioning.

  • 7 Lessons From £6 Million in Sales (Steal These)
    2026/03/12

This one is simple: if sales feel slower than they should, you don't need more "tactics"… you need the fundamentals that make people say YES.

Welcome to Episode 6 of Paul Mort Talks Sh*t (Solo).

In this episode, I break down the 7 lessons that make selling easier, cleaner, and way more consistent:

    The 7 lessons I cover:
    1. Money flows to perceived value
    2. People buy when they are uncomfortable
    3. Proof removes doubt
    4. Offer clarity will make selling easy
    5. Deadlines drive decisions, urgency creates action
    6. Authority reduces resistance
    7. Confidence is irresistible

If you're a business owner and things feel slower right now, this episode will help you tighten up your thinking, your offer, and your sales process, without chasing "new tricks".

  • The Reviewing Habit That Changed My Life (Here's the System I Use)
    2026/02/26

If you feel inconsistent, flat, or like you're going 90mph to nowhere… this is why. Here are the DAILY, WEEKLY, and QUARTERLY review questions I use to build clarity + confidence fast.

Welcome to Episode 5 of Paul Mort Talks Sh*t (Solo).

I'm obsessed with something that sounds boring…

    Reviewing. Debriefing. Measuring backwards.
And it's changed my life. Not because I love journaling (I'm a northern bloke… it's not that), but because I love the RESULT: confidence, self-belief, clarity, and momentum.

Most people don't review… so they end up guessing.
They rely on feelings ("I feel like it's not working…") and that's how people drift, lose hope, and quietly quit on themselves.

So, in this episode, I give you the exact questions I use to turn:
feelings into facts, drama into data, chaos into clarity, effort into evidence.

✅ DAILY QUESTIONS (as I do them)

What are my 5 wins today?

Who did I have a positive impact on today?

What opportunity am I most ready to capitalise on right now?

    ✅ WEEKLY QUESTIONS

What did I say I was going to do… and did I do it?

What was my magic moment this week? (and what actually moved the needle forward?)

What did I do, say, or ask that was outside my comfort zone?

    ✅ QUARTERLY QUESTIONS

What are my 10 biggest wins this quarter (personally and professionally)?

What was the secret to those wins? (what made them happen?)

What did I not achieve / where did I let myself down / what promises did I break, and why?

If you've been feeling flat, inconsistent, unmotivated, or like you're "going 90mph to nowhere"…

Try this for 7 days. Keep score. Collect evidence. Watch what happens.

    CHALLENGE:
➡️ Drop a comment: which question is your favourite, and which one are you going to start using today?

  • Stop Asking "How" & Start Asking "WHO" (Business Cheat Code)
    2026/02/19

Welcome back to Paul Mort Talks Sh*t (Solo).

This episode is about a concept that's been a complete cheat code for me in business:

    WHO, not HOW.

Most people sit there asking: "How do I do this?"
I ask: "Who can help me?" "Who's already done it?" "Who can open the door?"

    But here's the problem…

People have got this twisted. They think "who not how" means skip the work and DM strangers asking for favours.

This week alone I got messages like:

"Can you hook me up with your contact at Neutonic?"

"Can you message James Smith for me?"

"Can you send me your agent / HarperCollins contact?"

From people I don't know. No relationship. No value given. Just take, take, take.

So in this episode I break down how this REALLY works.

    What I cover:

➡️ Why asking before giving kills trust (emotional bank account)

➡️ Why introductions put someone's reputation on the line

➡️ The truth: access isn't free — it's earned (effort, energy, sometimes money)

➡️ Why most of my connections came from rooms, events, masterminds… not DMs

➡️ The key relationship question: "What's in it for them?"

The 6 steps I use to build relationships and grow my network properly:

    1. Get in the room

    2. Introduce yourself like an adult

    3. Be memorable (not loud)

    4. Do something useful / give value

    5. Follow up

    6. Water the relationship (don't only show up when you want something)

And I finish with 3 questions you should ask before you request a favour or intro:

    1. Have I added value first?

    2. If roles were reversed, would it feel fair?

    3. Am I asking for access… or trying to skip the work?

If you want bigger opportunities, better connections, and doors opening faster…

    Get in the f*cking room.

  • Why Your Content Isn't Converting (And What To Do Instead)
    2026/02/12

One of the biggest things business owners tell me is:
    "I need more leads."

And listen, I'd like more leads too… but most people don't even speak to the leads they've already got. They've got followers, connections, old enquiries, past clients… and they're doing NOTHING with them.

Because what we really want isn't "more leads"…
    It's more sales.

In this episode, I break down my Trust Ladder / Sales Ladder, a simple way to stop trying to convince strangers to buy, and start making offers to the people who already know you, like you, and trust you.

    What I cover:

➡️ Why content gets attention… but doesn't convert deals on its own

➡️ The 4 tiers: cold contacts → engaged audience → warm leads → past/current clients

➡️ Why you should start at the TOP if you want sales this week

➡️ How to message current + past clients with simple offers (without overthinking it)

➡️ What to do with warm leads who've gone quiet: "shrink the decision"

➡️ How to move engaged followers up the ladder using hand-raisers (comment/DM prompts)

If you want to make more sales, stop obsessing over going viral and start working the ladder properly, top-down.

If this helped, do the like/subscribe/follow thing… and drop a comment with what you want me to cover next.
