Queer I Am, The Podcast.

Queer I Am is a podcast dedicated to celebrating queer life, creativity, and community. At its heart, the show is about amplifying queer voices — including my own — and exploring how embracing queerness can be a powerful, life‑affirming force. I believe queerness is a superpower, one that allows individuals and communities to flourish creatively, emotionally, and socially, and every conversation on this podcast is rooted in that belief.

Launched in 2022, Queer I Am has grown into a global podcast, with listeners in over 60 countries. By Summer 2025, the show reached its sixth season and has featured an incredible range of guests from across the queer community. In 2023, the podcast expanded into a live, eight‑week season, welcoming 32 queer voices and recording in front of a live audience — a truly unforgettable experience. That same year, Queer I Am was nominated for an Independent Podcast Award.

Creating this podcast has been a joy and a privilege. The conversations are inspiring, uplifting, occasionally educational, and always full of heart. Making Queer I Am has shaped me both creatively and personally, and I am deeply proud of what the show has become.

While there are currently no plans for another season — never say never — I want to extend my deepest thanks to every guest who trusted me with their stories, to Julian Tardo of Church Road Studios in Hove, UK for their ongoing support, and to everyone who took the time to listen, download, and engage with these conversations. This podcast will always be very special to me.

If you're new to Queer I Am, I hope you enjoy!

  • Queer I Am Interviews, Andrew Flewitt - Author of Do You Believe in Life After Loss. Queer Stories of Loss, Hope and Resilience. Guest hosted by Damian Kerlin. (Bonus Episode from Season 5)
    2025/08/14

Hello and welcome to Queer I Am, The Podcast and a special season I’m calling Flewey’s Queer Book Club.

I couldn’t have a book club theme and not include my own book! So here it is again, my interview with Damian Kerlin, about my debut book, Do You Believe in Life After Loss – Queer Stories of Loss, Hope and Resilience.

This collection of queer experiences of loss, hope and resilience explores different aspects of loss, the challenges of these situations, but also how queerness might help people to navigate change and loss and the opportunities and hope that can arise when healing begins.
Exploring experiences of loss in all its forms - from bereavement and relationship breakups to loss of community, safety and identity - the book considers how queerness might help people to navigate change and loss and asks the question: do you believe in life after loss?

The book is out right now - please grab a copy, you won't be disappointed.

I hope you enjoy the episode.
