Growing up Melissa was no stranger to the self doubt that so many girls feel everyday! She felt invisible and lacking a safe space to confidently be herself. This feeling took her to hard places that she hopes no girl ever has to reach. However, this journey helped her find her purpose…teaching!

Through 23 years of teaching, Melissa took her experiences and her passion for girls and launched The Girls Positivity Club!
Once a small group of girls from her class, The Girls Positivity Club is now a global movement partnering with parents and their daughters to embrace who they are and learn how to stay positive amidst life's biggest challenges.

Join Melissa every Tuesday on 'Raising Confident Girls' (A Girls Positivity Club Podcast) to talk about self care, positivity, raising confident girls, and practical lessons to integrate into your everyday! The Girls Positivity Club is spreading empowerment across the globe and you’re not gonna want to miss your chance to get on board!

  • When Your Daughter Seems Different Right After School Gets Out
    2026/06/04

Welcome back to Raising Confident Girls. In this episode, Melissa Jones explores something many moms notice when school ends: their daughter suddenly seems different. Maybe she's moodier, more emotional, more withdrawn, or surprisingly happier and more relaxed.

Melissa explains why these shifts are often a normal part of emotional decompression after months of academics, friendships, activities, and social pressures. What can look like attitude, boredom, clinginess, or withdrawal is often a girl’s nervous system adjusting to a new season.

    In this episode, we explore:

    • Why girls often react differently when school ends
    • What emotional decompression can look like
    • Why some girls seem heavier emotionally while others seem lighter
    • How to respond with connection instead of immediately trying to fix
    • Why emotional safety matters during transitions
    • Simple ways to support your daughter as she settles into summer

Join Melissa for a reassuring conversation about helping your daughter navigate the transition into summer with understanding, patience, and connection.

  • Pep Talk: When You Can See What She’s Capable Of — But She Can't Yet
    2026/05/29

Welcome back to Pep Talk Friday, an episode of Raising Confident Girls. In this episode, Melissa Jones offers encouragement for parents navigating the difficult moments when their daughter doubts herself, gives up easily, or struggles to see her own capability.

Melissa explores why confidence often does not look the way parents expect it to. Instead of showing up as certainty, confidence is often built through hesitation, frustration, and small moments of trying again. She reminds parents that their role is not to force confidence or fix the struggle, but to stay steady and supportive while their daughter works through it.

With compassion and reassurance, Melissa shares why growth is often happening beneath the surface, even when parents cannot immediately see it.

    Tune in to discover:

    • Why self-doubt is often part of the confidence-building process
    • How to respond when your daughter says “I can’t”
    • Why staying calm and steady matters more than having the perfect words
    • How confidence develops through small steps over time
    • Encouragement for parents supporting daughters through hard moments

This episode is a reminder that confidence is not built all at once. Sometimes the most powerful thing a parent can do is simply stay present while their daughter learns to believe in herself.

  • When Your Daughter Says “I Can’t” — but You Know She Can
    2026/05/26

Welcome back to Raising Confident Girls. In this episode, Melissa Jones talks about those frustrating moments when your daughter says, “I can’t”—whether it’s homework, sports, trying something new, or even something she used to do with ease.

As parents, these moments can leave us unsure how to respond. Do we encourage her to push through, or do we back off? Melissa explores why these reactions are often less about ability and more about the emotions underneath, like frustration, overwhelm, fear, or self-doubt.

Through relatable examples and practical insight, Melissa shares how parents can respond in a way that helps daughters feel understood first, while still supporting them in building confidence and resilience over time.

    In this episode, we explore:

    • Why “I can’t” is often more about feelings than actual ability
    • How frustration and overwhelm can affect confidence
    • Why encouragement alone doesn’t always help in the moment
    • The importance of helping your daughter feel understood first
    • How small steps can help girls move through challenges
    • Why confidence is built through experience, not perfection
    • How parents can stay calm and supportive during difficult moments

Join Melissa for a thoughtful conversation about helping girls navigate hard moments with support, connection, and confidence-building that lasts far beyond the moment itself.
