  • ReStructured S2E8: The High Achiever Trap
    2026/05/26

If you've built your identity around being reliable, dependable, and always coming through for others, this episode is for you.

I unpack why high achievers struggle with boundaries more than most and why it has less to do with your workload and more to do with the story you've been telling yourself since childhood.

I get into the double-edged sword of being the go-to person in your organization, why saying no feels like a personality crisis when your worth is tied to always saying yes, and how a simple pause can completely change the way you respond to requests on your time and energy.

Plus, I share a story about my trainer that perfectly captures what it actually feels like to hold a boundary and why the discomfort is worth it.

If you've ever played calendar Tetris just to avoid disappointing someone, this one will hit close to home.

So here's the question: where in your life are you saying yes when you really mean no?

  • ReStructured S2E7: Resentment Reset
    2026/05/12

Resentment might be one of the clearest signs that a boundary needs to be reset.

This week on Restructured, I’m talking about resentment, the kind that shows up when we’ve overcommitted, said yes to too many things, filled every inch of our calendar, and then find ourselves irritated at the people around us for needing something.

I share how, early in my own boundaries journey, resentment showed up for me at work and at home. It looked like playing the “busy Olympics,” feeling like I was busier than everyone else, getting frustrated when team members interrupted me, and bringing that stress home in ways that weren’t fair to the people I love.

In this episode, I discuss how resentment can be a boundary problem, why busy is relative, how unclear expectations can create unnecessary frustration, and why saying yes to things we don’t actually have capacity for can eventually turn into irritation, short tempers, and burnout.

I also talk about what this looks like in leadership, including the importance of communicating expectations with your team, blocking off time you actually honor, delegating when possible, and recognizing when your calendar needs a reset.

The Question of the Week: “What is my resentment trying to tell me?”

If you’ve been feeling short-fused, irritated, overwhelmed, or resentful toward your team, your clients, your calendar, or even your loved ones, this episode is your reminder to pause and look at what’s underneath it. Sometimes resentment isn’t the real problem, it’s the warning light telling you it’s time to reset your boundaries.
