Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. The Scriptures go on to say that it's by faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the Word of God so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.

It's important here to realize that faith in this context is not man's will, but the result of God's revelation. When God reveals something to you spiritually it is then that you have the opportunity to have faith, because faith comes as a result of hearing and hearing by the rhema Word of God (the one that He speaks to you directly).

This is why the Lord Jesus said, This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He has sent in John 6:29.

It's is God's work that gives you faith. This is why The Apostle Paul said in Ephesians 2:8, For by grace are ye saved through faith: and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God.

Many people single out grace as not being of ourselves, but faith is also included there.
