Casey Viera and NBA champion Devin Brown recap Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs' Game 1 defeat to the Minnesota Timberwolves, energized by a returning Anthony Edwards to open the Western Conference Semifinals.

After being listed as questionable on Sunday due to a left knee bone bruise, the Timberwolves' star suited up and scored 18 points in 25 minutes off the bench. Julius Randle led Minnesota in scoring with 21.

On the night he set a franchise record by blocking 12 shots, Wembanyama's offensive woes played a significant part in the loss as he was held to only 11 points on 5/17 shooting, missing all eight of his three-point attempts.

De'Aaron Fox scored 10 but had six turnovers. Stephon Castle scored 17 yet fouled out midway through the fourth quarter.

San Antonio will try to pull even when the series resumes in the Alamo City on Wednesday.
