On the night of June 14, 2025, 26-year-old Sheetal Choudhary, a rising Haryanvi model and actress, disappeared after a music video shoot in Ahar village, Panipat, Haryana. Hours later, she was last seen with her boyfriend Sunil, a married man with two children. The two had reportedly been in a volatile relationship for months.

At around 1:30 AM, Sheetal made a disturbing video call to her sister, claiming Sunil was assaulting her. Her phone then went silent.

By June 15, Sunil's car was found submerged in a canal near Panipat, and he checked into a hospital claiming it was an accident — saying Sheetal had drowned. But CCTV footage and inconsistencies in his statement raised suspicions.

On June 16, 2025, a woman’s body was found in the Kharkhoda canal in Sonipat — throat slit and stabbed multiple times. Tattoos confirmed it was Sheetal. By June 17, police arrested Sunil after he confessed to the crime. He admitted to stabbing her at least 8 times and slitting her throat before dumping her body and car into the canal to fake an accident.
