    Send us Fan Mail

In this episode of Soccer Bedtime Stories, we tell the powerful story of Haiti’s road back to the men’s FIFA World Cup for the first time since 1974.

After fifty-two years away from the men’s World Cup stage, Haiti’s national team, known as Les Grenadiers, completed an unforgettable journey to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. From the historic memory of Emmanuel “Manno” Sanon’s goal against Italy in 1974, to the modern team led by captain Johny Placide and coach Sébastien Migné, this story follows Haiti through heartbreak, resilience, and hope.

Haiti’s path was not easy. With home matches played away from Port-au-Prince because of instability in the country, the Grenadiers had to carry their dream far from home. But wins over Costa Rica and Nicaragua helped Haiti secure its long-awaited return to the men’s World Cup.

Now drawn into Group C with Scotland, Brazil, and Morocco, Haiti steps back onto soccer’s biggest stage with history on its shoulders and a nation behind it.

This bedtime soccer story is about more than scores and qualifying tables. It is about memory, identity, the Haitian diaspora, and the meaning of returning after 52 years.

    Send us Fan Mail

In this episode of Soccer Bedtime Stories, we travel back to one of the greatest underdog stories in football history: Denmark’s improbable run to the 1992 European Championship.

Underdogs: Denmark's Improbable Run to the 1992 European Championship tells the amazing story of a team that was not even supposed to be at Euro 1992. After finishing behind Yugoslavia in qualifying, Denmark’s players had gone home, many already on holiday, believing their tournament dream was over. But when Yugoslavia was removed from the competition, Denmark received a last-minute invitation to play in Sweden.

With almost no time to prepare, manager Richard Møller Nielsen gathered a team filled with quiet belief, hard-working players, and unforgettable heroes like Peter Schmeichel, Brian Laudrup, Henrik Larsen, John Jensen, Lars Elstrup, and Kim Vilfort. What followed became one of the most remarkable stories in European football history.

From a tense draw against England, to a must-win match against France, to Peter Schmeichel’s legendary penalty save against Marco van Basten and the Netherlands, Denmark kept finding a way. Then, in the final against Germany, goals from John Jensen and Kim Vilfort completed the fairy tale and gave Denmark the 1992 European Championship title.

This soccer bedtime story is about second chances, belief, teamwork, resilience, and the magic of showing up when no one expects you to win.

Perfect for young soccer fans, families, and anyone who loves football history, soccer podcasts for kids, bedtime stories for children, underdog victories, Euro 1992, and the beautiful game.

Sleep well and dream big, soccer friends.
