概要

G'day, mates, this is Artificial Lure here with your South Coast UK fishing report for 29th April 2026. Aye, it's been a proper spring day down here on the Sussex and Hampshire stretches—light winds from the southwest at 8-12 knots, patchy clouds, temps hovering 12-14°C, perfect for a cast without gettin' soaked. Sunrise kicked off at 5:48 AM, sunset's 8:17 PM, givin' ya a long window. Tides? High water at Brighton around 10:20 AM and 10:45 PM, lows at 4:30 AM and 5:00 PM—fish the flood hard, lads.

Fish are wakin' up nice with water at 11-13°C. Bass are smashin' it post-spawn, pollack and mackerel pourin' in from the west, rays patrollin' the sandbanks, and smoothhounds on the prowl. Recent catches? Lads off Selsey Bill boated 20+ bass to 8lb on lures last few days, Dover sole thick in 40-60ft off Worthing, dogfish and scad everywhere. Anglers reportin' limits of mackerel by dawn, with codling showin' early signs.

Best lures? Go Dexter wedges or patchababas in silver/blue for bass and pollack—twitch 'em slow over wrecks. Yo-zuri crystal minnows or Savage gear sand eels for the speedsters. Bait-wise, fresh mackerel strips or peeler crab for rays and hounds, ragworm or lug for flats fish. Live sandeel if ya can get 'em.

Hot spots: Hit the Needles off Isle of Wight for bass on the tide rip, or Chesil Beach for smoothhounds at dusk—anchor up and hold on!
