 G'day, mates, this is Artificial Lure 'ere with yer South Coast UK fishing report for Monday 27th April 2026, evenin' edition at 10pm. Been a proper spring day down 'ere on the Sussex and Hampshire stretches—mild westerlies at 10-15 knots, mostly cloudy with a drizzle early on, temps hoverin' 12-14°C. Sunrise was 'round 5:50am, sunset just gone at 8:20pm, givin' us a solid 14 hours of light.

Tides today: high water at Portsmouth hit 4.8m 'round 3pm, low at 1.2m by 9pm—fish bit best on the flood tide movin' in from the Channel. Weather's settlin' for tomorrow, light winds, perfect for shore chuckin'.

Fish activity's pickin' up with the warmer shallows—bass are prowlin' the surf, mackerel shoals crashin' in close, pollack and wrasse on the reefs. Recent catches? Lads at Brighton Marina pulled 20+ bass to 5lb on lures last weekend, Worthing pier saw limits of mackerel and a few rays, and Dorset charters boated pollack to 8lb plus dogfish aplenty. Numbers are solid: expect 10-15 fish per session if yer on it.

Best lures right now: silver Toby spinners or Dexter wedges for mackerel and bass—chuck 'em from piers. For bass, go soft plastics like 4-inch paddletails in pearl or white, worked slow over sandbars. Ragworm or peeler crab on the bottom for rays and flats; fresh mackerel strips for pollack. Live sandeel if ya can get 'em.

Hot spots: Hit the shingle at East Preston near Littlehampton at first light—bass smashin' there. Or Shoreham Beach by the harbour arm on the evenin' tide, mackerel goin' mad.
