    In "An Earnest Warning about Lukewarmness," Spurgeon warns against the spiritual danger of indifference in churches and individual believers. Preaching on Christ’s rebuke of the church at Laodicea from Revelation 3:14–21, he shows that a church may appear respectable, organized, and prosperous while becoming proud, prayerless, and spiritually dull.

    Spurgeon urges believers to repent of self-satisfaction, recover holy zeal, and return to close communion with Christ, who still graciously calls his people to open the door and enjoy renewed fellowship with him.
