I had such a pleasant conversation with Dr Amy Likar today
(well, I guess it was a few months ago when we recorded, but I enjoyed it all the same!)
She has been in the musician wellness field for over 30 years, and has a WEALTH of knowledge when it comes to body mapping, technique, and connecting with your instrument.
She also shares stories of how injuries and surgeries she experienced led her to develop compensatory playing patterns that led to performance difficulties on flute
But then how those difficult experiences led her to find solutions through Alexander Technique, body mapping, and performance psychology.
She also shares how she now formulates her exercise routines based on her body mapping and Alexander Technique knowledge, which I found to be particularly interesting!
Enjoy, and keep on keepin' on!
