Surf Soup® creator Donna Kay Lau shares updates on the expanding Surf Soup® universe including new Asian-inspired hardcover books, cultural storytelling projects, animation development, music, podcasts, digital publishing, and Surf Soup® TV.

Created in celebration of Asian American and Pacific Islander storytelling and culture, the growing Surf Soup® collection highlights family traditions, food adventures, imagination, creativity, sports, and positive storytelling for kids and families.

One featured book, Surf Soup® Red Egg Ginger Party, was created in honor of Lau’s grandniece Brinley and inspired by the traditional celebration of a baby’s first 100 days and the cultural joy surrounding a red egg and ginger party. The story reflects themes of family, celebration, love, and generational connection through Surf Soup® storytelling.

Featured titles also include stories inspired by Qingming traditions, Moon Day celebrations, Dragon Boat Festival adventures, Asian food culture, and family memories brought to life through colorful illustrated storytelling.

Surf Soup® now includes more than 100 books along with animation projects, original music, livestreams, Roblox development, educational programs, podcasts, and expanding hardcover and digital publishing initiatives.
