  • 02. Why Can't I Get Over It? 5 Truths About Healing From Childhood Trauma
    2026/04/18

In this powerful episode of Surrendered Self-Esteem, we answer the question so many women silently carry: “Why can’t I just get over it?”

If you’ve experienced childhood trauma, emotional pain, or seasons that still affect how you see yourself, this episode will remind you that your healing journey is not broken—it’s unfolding exactly as God intended.

We begin with a truth many people need to hear: God saw everything that happened to you—even when no one else did. Your pain was never invisible to Him. Through Psalm 34:18, we’re reminded that God is close to the brokenhearted and present in the moments you felt most alone.

From there, we shift into identity. What happened to you is not who you are. Trauma may be part of your story, but it is not your identity. Through 2 Corinthians 5:17, you’ll begin to see yourself not as the hurt version of you—but as who God says you are: made new.

We also break down one of the biggest struggles in healing: why it feels like you’re not “moving on.” The truth is, healing is not a switch—it’s a process. Ecclesiastes 3:3 and Psalm 147:3 remind us that God heals in layers, walking with us step by step. You’re not behind—you’re in process.

In this episode, you’ll also discover that your story is not wasted. Romans 8:28 shows us that God can redeem even the most painful parts of your life and turn them into purpose. The very thing that hurt you may become the message that helps someone else heal.

Finally, we talk about something many trauma survivors struggle with: feeling safe. Even if you didn’t feel protected in the past, God offers you a new place of security. Through Isaiah 41:10 and Psalm 27:10, you’ll begin to understand that healing includes learning to feel safe again—with God first.

If you’ve ever felt stuck, overwhelmed by negative thoughts, or unsure why healing is taking so long, this episode will meet you right where you are.

Because the truth is: God never asked you to “get over it.” He’s inviting you to heal through it—with Him.

This episode is for Christian women who are ready to renew their mindset, heal from trauma, overcome self-doubt, and build self-worth rooted in God’s truth—not the world’s standards.

You are not overreacting. You are not too far gone. You are not behind.

    You are healing.
