Day 10: Has God Forgotten You? Genesis 15 Explained

Has God forgotten you while you wait? Why did God cut a covenant with Abram in Genesis 15, and why does that matter so much when life feels delayed, uncertain, or fragile?

In this episode of Through the Bible in a Year: Walking the Story of God, Dr. Shawn M. Greener walks through one of the most dramatic covenant scenes in the entire Bible. Abram fears. Abram questions. Abram waits. And God answers, not with shallow reassurance, but with covenant.

Genesis 15 reveals the weight of blood bound promise, the meaning of Abram believing God, and the staggering truth that God alone passes between the pieces. This is not sentimental religion or vague spirituality. This is divine faithfulness meeting human fear.

If you’ve ever wondered whether delay means God has forgotten you, this episode will help you see why your hope does not rest in your ability to hold life together. It rests in the covenant faithfulness of God.

  • Day 9 The Priest Shouldn't Be Here!
    2026/04/09

    This priest shouldn’t be here!!

Why does Melchizedek suddenly appear in Genesis 14, and why does Abram honor him so quickly?

In this episode, Dr. Shawn M. Greener explains why Melchizedek is not a random detail, but a major theological signpost. He shows up before Levi, before Sinai, and before the priestly system most readers expect, and that is exactly why this passage matters.

Through biblical context, Hebraic worldview, and careful teaching, this message reveals why Melchizedek points to a bigger priestly and royal reality than many people have ever considered.

What stands out to you most about Melchizedek?

  • Day 8: Why Did Abraham Go to Egypt?
    2026/04/08

Day 8: Why Did Abraham Go to Egypt?

    God called Abraham.
    Then famine hit.
    And fear started making decisions.

In Day 8 of Through the Bible in a Year, Dr. Shawn M. Greener opens Genesis 12:10 and shows why Abraham’s move to Egypt still hits home. A real promise from God can be followed almost immediately by pressure, testing, and the temptation to trust what looks safe instead of what God said.

This episode shows why fear still drives people toward modern Egypts, why compromise costs more than it promises, and why trust, prayer, and obedience are still the path back to alignment with God.

Have you ever made a fear decision?

  • Day 7: Why Why Did GOD Choose Abraham?
    2026/04/07

Day 7: Why Why Did GOD Choose Abraham?

Why did God choose Abraham, and what does that reveal about calling in your own life?

In Day 7 of Through the Bible in a Year, Dr. Shawn M. Greener explores why God’s choice of Abraham was not random favoritism, moral superiority, or personal greatness. This is where the covenant story begins to move toward the blessing of the nations.

If you misunderstand why Abraham was chosen, you’ll misunderstand biblical calling. And if you misunderstand calling, you’ll misread your own life.

This episode examines Genesis in context through a Hebraic worldview, with attention to covenant, purpose, obedience, and the larger redemptive story God is unfolding through Abraham and his seed.

What do you think made Abraham chosen?

  • The Stone Was Moved, But Not For Him
    2026/04/04

What if the greatest proof of God’s power was not that He kept His Son from death, but that He brought Him through it?

What if the empty tomb is not just proof that Jesus lives, but proof that your fear, your shame, your grief, and your past do not get the final word?

Because on Resurrection Sunday, Heaven did not whisper.

    Heaven announced.

    The tomb is empty.

    The King is alive.

And everything changes because of it.

Welcome to True Word, Faith for LIFE! with Dr. Shawn M. Greener.

Today we’re looking at one of the most powerful truths in all the Bible.

The stone was moved, but not for Him.

It was moved so the world could see that death had lost.

This episode is brought to you by my book, True Word, Faith for LIFE! Find it in the Store at TrueWordFaithforLife.com and go deeper into what it means to live as a true disciple of Yeshua.

  • Judas Ate Too!!!
    2026/04/04

What do you do with a love that makes no sense?

What do you do with mercy so holy, so deep, so undeserved, that it offends your sense of fairness?

What do you do with a Savior who looked straight into the face of the man who would betray Him, knew exactly what was coming, and still served him?

That is the scandal of the gospel.

That is the shock of the table.

That is the weight of the cross.

And that is part of the glory of the resurrection.

Because when we say, “He is risen,” we are not merely saying death lost.

    We are saying Love won.

We are saying mercy stood where wrath was deserved.

We are saying the Holy One of God knew what was in the human heart and still moved toward sinners with covenant love.

And nowhere is that more staggering than this.

    Judas ate too.

    POEM - Judas Ate Too

by © 2023 Shawn M. Greener. All rights reserved.

In the hush of night, with lamps burned low,

Twelve souls reclined where love would go.

The Lamb, unblemished, broke the bread—

With heavy heart and thorns ahead.

    He knew.

The sting of silver in a traitor’s hand,

The whispered deal, the kiss so planned.

He knew the weight of every lie,

And still He came, still chose to die.

He knelt before the filth-stained feet,

Of one whose heart would soon retreat.

He washed the grime, He met the eyes,

Of one whose soul wore thin disguise.

    He fed him.

The bread, His body. The wine, His grace.

He didn’t flinch, avert His face.

He offered mercy, deep and wide,

To the very one who’d soon collide

With soldiers’ swords and midnight shame

Yet Jesus loved him just the same.

    And I…

Am Judas, too. In thought, in deed,

I’ve sold Him out to lesser need.

I’ve kissed His cheek, then turned away,

To chase the dark, avoid the day.

But, oh! the joy, the trembling truth:

That mercy isn’t earned by proof.

He saw me then, He sees me now,

Still wraps the towel, still bows somehow.

He feeds me grace, though I betray,

He loves me still, and will not sway.

    I should have fled… I should have died…

But Jesus drew me to His side.

So here I stand, amazed, undone…

The traitor touched by Heaven’s Son.

And through the tears, I lift my view…

And whisper, “Thank You… Judas ate too.”
