 The film pays tribute to the 1930s Bride of Frankenstein, beginning with a speech from Mary Shelley, yet it stands as a unique creation. It is neither a remake, a reboot, nor a reanimation. Similar to the novel it draws inspiration from, it blends genres, combining horror, science fiction, and gothic romance, while also incorporating popular 30s film styles like musicals and gangster films, all while remaining, at its core, 'the most terrifying of all, a love story.' Although it starts as a tale of a man's solitude, this is fundamentally a woman's film, brimming with feminine rage and female desire—the desire for love, for self-determination, and for being heard!
