It's the dead of winter in Copper Creek, Ohio, and Luna is working the switchboard when a call comes in from the all-night laundromat on the edge of town. A woman's voice, calm but hollow, asks the same question over and over: 'Did I leave something in the dryer?' Luna connects her, but the line stays open, and she hears something that shouldn't be there — the sound of a machine running long after it should have stopped.
