Rodney Alcala was a strange man. He had a high IQ but didn't fit in well with others. He did a good job of hiding just how dangerous he was for a while, but then he was caught taking an eight year old girl, Tali Shapiro, into his apartment. He went to prison for a while for that abduction and assault but when he got out, he was more dangerous than ever. For more than a decade, cops across the country would search for the killer taking women and murdering them, but had little luck. Then, Rodney Alcala approached a group of girls on the beach who were smart enough to stay away from him.
