  • Save Your Local Forest Enviro Show
    2026/07/07

Greetings Earthlings. Are we feeling very Independent yet? We sure should be given what's going on in DC these daze! With that in mind let's talk about some successful local action. Anita Ryan and Brian Seppala join us to talk about the struggle to protect Bare Cove Park in Hingham, MA. Their website is HERE.

Here's our Quote of the Week's backstory: "Two people display[ed] a banner atop the Empire State Building in the Manhattan borough of New York, July 1, 2026. The pair were self-identified via social media as Russian couple Ivan Beerkus and Angela Nikolau, daredevil climbers who were the subject of the 2024 documentary “Skywalkers: A Love Story”. The banner read: "When the power of love beats the love of power the world knows peace"

That said, passersby would hardly be able to read the banner over 103 floors below.

  • A Northeast State and Federal Forests Enviro Show
    2026/06/24

Greetings Earthlings. Happy Summer Solstice. It's the 21st century, burn technologies no longer make sense in a Climate Crisis and the losers' War Against Nature must end ASAP. That's how we see it and we've invited Zack Porter co-founder of Standing Trees and passionate advocate for America's public lands back to make the case for permanently protecting State and Federal forest lands in the Northeast.

The Enviro Show Quote of the Week as we imagine being out in the Wild:

“Devoted though we must be to the conservation cause, I do not believe that any of us should give it all of our time or effort or heart. Give what you can, but do not burn yourselves out -- or break your hearts. Let us save at least half of our lives for the enjoyment of this wonderful world which still exists. Leave your dens, abandon your cars and walk out into the great mountains, the deserts, the forests, the seashores. Those treasures still belong to all of us. Enjoy them to the full, stretch your legs, expand your lungs, enliven your hearts.."

  • A May Day! May Day! Enviro Show
    2026/04/28

Greetings Earthlings. Yes, it's a distress call but also the European festival Beltane of ancient Pagan origins marking the beginning of summer, usually celebrated on May 1. Also, May 1st was International Workers’ Day which began as a commemoration of the 1886 Haymarket Riot in Chicago. The day is officially recognized in much of the world, but not the United States 'cuz you know, "commies"? Hence, Labor Day falling on the first Monday in September so everyone must go shopping. Lots of distress to cover there but we'll stick with the present MAGA shitshow and the Pagans. Laura Wildman-Hanlon, Author & Wiccan Priestess returns to the show to delve into the Craft and the times.

Our Quote of the Week is in keeping with the above:

He who is cruel to animals becomes hard also in his dealings with men. We can judge the heart of a man by his treatment of animals.

  • An Earthy Enviro Show
    2026/04/14

Greetings Earthlings & Happy Every Day is Earth Day. Regardless of what lunacy is slithering around our so-called Federal Government and in the dwindling ranks of MAGA, the vast majority of the human race is still clinging to some semblance of sanity. The largest demonstration of that race was on the first Earth Day, April 22 1970 when "20 million Americans — at the time, 10% of the total population of the United States — [took] to the streets, parks and auditoriums to demonstrate against the impacts of 150 years of industrial development which had left a growing legacy of serious human health impacts." This year, on March 28 the second largest demonstration in history consisting of some 8 million souls returned to the streets on #NoKings Day 3, not just in support of the planet being plundered by the MAGA freak show but also in protest of that fascist freak show and its horrific agenda. Jeromie Whalen, school teacher and regional super-hero running for Massachusetts’ First Congressional District U.S. House of Reps seat now held by Richie Neal joins us.

    Our Quote of the Week.

It is true that the Earth’s temperature does change a lot over millions of years. In fact, scientists believe that about 125,000 years ago it may have been even warmer than it is right now. What is disturbing, however, is that temperatures are rising much faster now than at any time in the past two million years.
