Hello! We have an array of news!

First, we thought we hadn't covered Con Air before, but it turns out we HAVE! So, for a fulsome episode with all our thoughts, check out the one from 2024. However, we have added some thoughts as an homage to the pod because, second, this will be our last episode!

We've loved hanging out and talking at you about movies, but the time has come to move on. Stay tuned to the feed for upcoming projects!

Thanks so much for listening. It's been fun!

  • Siblings or Dating?: Crimson Peak
    2026/05/09

Hi there, and welcome to our last Guillermo del Toro episode! Today, we're talking about Crimson Peak (2015), a love letter to gothic horror and a real romp if you love creepy yet helpful ghosts, weird siblings, naive blondes, and tiny Victorian sunglasses. We both love gothic horror, so we have a lot to say about this text. Hope you enjoy it!

  • Gone Fishin': The Shape of Water
    2026/04/25

Well, hi there! Welcome to our third episode on Guillermo del Toro's work. This week, we're talking about The Shape of Water, a 2017 film that received just a ton of accolades, including Oscars for best picture and best director. Please enjoy our very silly attempts to read the film closely--maybe too closely.

    Thanks for listening!

  • Eyeball Stigmata: Pan's Labyrinth
    2026/04/04

Hello hello! This week, we're talking about Pan's Labyrinth, an objectively great movie that Charlie thinks is also a bummer. While they're not wrong, Mandy argues that it is also a beautiful film with lots to think about. We have a good discussion about it, though, so don't worry!

As always, feel free to give us a great rating. We'd appreciate it!

  • He Licks the Floor: Cronos
    2026/03/21

Hello and welcome to our new series on the films of Guillermo del Toro!

Today, we're kicking things off with Cronos, baby GDT's first feature featuring baby Ron Perlman (who sports a sharkskin suit and a helmety mullet). We'll talk about vampire movies, heartwarming moments, and licking blood off a public bathroom floor.

As always, please rate and review us (in a good way, not a bad way), and feel free to reach out at thejuiciestbitspodcast@gmail.com.

Also, let us know if Mandy should watch Pinocchio and/or Charlie should watch Frankenstein!

  • Alexandria the Great: The Fall
    2026/02/14

Hello, we're back! Happy new year!

Today, we're finishing our Tarsem Singh series with The Fall, which is a VERY different movie than the others we've discussed. Seriously, this one is really good, not least because of Catinca Untaru, who plays Alexandria, and Lee Pace, who plays Roy. The chemistry (platonic) between these two is incredible, and Untaru should have won ALL the awards. It's not often we have a hard time making fun of something, but this might be one of those times.

Please remember to give us a 5-star review! Also, email us if you want to. We're at thejuiciestbitspodcast@gmail.com.

  • Hash of the Titans: Immortals
    2025/12/13

Well, hello! We're in the midst of our Tarsem Singh-a-thon, and today we bring you a discussion of Immortals (2011), a very silly sword and sandal film about Theseus and Phaedra (sort of) and their interactions with a monomaniacal king, random characters of Greek myth, and the gods, who are never quite sure what they want. Oh, and HATS. This movie is honestly mostly nonsense, but it looks great.

Also, this is our last episode before the holidays, so have a cozy end-of-December, and we'll ring in the new year (late, probably) with an episode about The Fall (2006).

As always, rate, review, and email us if you want to!

  • Killing your inner child never looked so stylish: The Cell
    2025/11/22

Hi everyone! This episode marks the beginning of a new series! For the next few episodes we're going to talk about Tarsem Singh's feature film oeuvre (it is not large). This week, we're talking about The Cell, a 2000 fever dream starring Jennifer Lopez, Vince Vaughn, Vincent D'Onofrio, and others whose names we can't remember right now. Did this movie deserve the criticism it got? Yes. But it looks pretty!

If you are at all inclined, please rate and review us. Also, feel free to get in touch at thejuiciestbitspodcast@gmail.com.
