A new, large ebola outbreak is alarming global health experts, concerned that the first reports of the outbreak have come at such a late stage, with hundreds of cases already suspected. Adding to that, the area of the Congo where this outbreak has been identified is mired in an ongoing conflict and right along the borders of Uganda and South Sudan where containment is extremely difficult. The World Health Organization and other health officials have reached the region trying to slow the spread, but weeks have already gone by, with little to no contact tracing.

The Associated Press is reporting that FBI Director Kash Patel took a VIP snorkel tour of Pearl Harbor while on a “work” trip with a second “layover” in Hawaii. One of the main sticking points, this excursion was not included in any public itinerary. And while it was disclosed that the FBI director made a stop in Honolulu on his way to New Zealand to visit the FBI office, it was NEVER disclosed that he made that second stop in Hawaii on his way back, where the snorkeling adventure to place. This is yet another potentially embarrassing story for Patel about what he prioritizes as FBI director.

A nasty custody battle is escalating, echoing through the halls of congress with a midterm election hanging in the balance. Republican Congressman Max Miller from Ohio has just filed a defamation lawsuit against the daughter of Republican Senator Bernie Moreno. Congressman Miller’s divorce from Emily Moreno was finalized last summer, but the custody battle for their 2-year-old has elicited accusations of physical abuse, including Moreno accusing Miller of throwing boiling water on her. Miller is seeking damages, claiming he has reduced campaign contributions for his re-election bid because of Moreno’s allegations.

63-year-old Richard Glossip was freed from an Oklahoma jail Thursday after nearly 30 years behind bars. He was released on a $500,000 bond while he awaits a new and third trial ordered by the Supreme Court after justices reviewed a 2023 letter by the Oklahoma Attorney General acknowledging the evidence against Glossip “does not support that he is guilty of first degree murder beyond a reasonable doubt.” Hear how Glossip has been twice convicted of murder and why Kim Kardashian, Susan Sarandon and Dr. Phil have been fighting for years to free the man prosecutors still maintain masterminded the brutal beating death of his boss back in 1997.
