Not that anybody asked but this week we pulled out our paint brushes and headed to Halsingland because we're talking about Midsommar, again. This year we were lucky enough to be joined by Nille Svennsson, one of the film's art directors, who spoke to us at length about his involvement in the movie and all things art. Expect codeine, non-Swedeish flowers and dancing until you're skeletons.

Not that anybody asked but this week we applied our sunscreen and avoided the pie because we're talking, again about the modern horror masterpiece Midsommar. For this year's Midsommar special we were honoured to be joined by the film's Director of Photography Pawel Pogorzelski who talks to Ian about all things Midsommar (and Nicolas Cage) and then Graham and Ian talk about their Top 3 movies to double bill with Midsommar. What will make our final Top 3 list this week? Expect The Midsommar Book Club, the lessening of the sorbet effect and Warwick Davies: Spirit Guide.

Not that anybody asked but this week we hollowed out our bears and booked our flights to Stockholm because we are finally diving deep into Ari Aster's folk horror masterpiece Midsommar. You may recognise Midsommar from where we have recommended it every single episode, and it's now time for us to put our money where our mouth is. The first half an hour of this episode is spoiler free and our Top 3 list this week delves into "Moments From Midsommar That Stuck With Us" in an attempt to explain why we love the film so much and keep recommending it to you all. Expect Ariana Grande, Brazilian Football Legend Pele and 2 Mid 2 Sommar in Space.

For a film that deals with grief as much as Midsommar does we obviously name dropped GriefCast - a podcast that has helped both of our hosts - you can find out more about it here

You can find the opening mural Ian mentions here

  • Football Films For People Who Don't Watch Football
    2026/06/11

Not that anybody asked but this week we laced up the boots and ignored the offside rule because we're figuring out our Top 3 Football Films For People Who Don't Watch Football. It's a solo outing this week, and with the World Cup kicking off today, it felt like the right moment to ask: which football films actually work if you couldn't care less about the beautiful game? Whether it's the underdog story, the slow-motion goal, or the half-time team talk that somehow makes you cry anyway, we're finding the films that transcend the sport entirely. What will make our final Top 3 list this week? Expect a surprising amount of hobbits, an inability to spell Uruguay and Not Tim Roth.

  • Movie Characters We Would Noir
    2026/05/28

Not that anybody asked but this week we pulled down the blinds and lit a cigarette we didn't even want because we're figuring out our Top 3 Movie Characters We Would Noir. Inspired by the release of Spider-Noir, we're asking which characters deserve to be drenched in shadows, saddled with a dark past and given a voiceover nobody asked them to do. Which beloved heroes would crumble beautifully under the weight of a corrupted city? Which characters would thrive in a world where nothing is simple and everyone has an angle? And which characters would it be just plain funny to see brood? What will make our final Top 3 list this week? Expect fly induced technical issues, being unable to say the episode title and a slug tug.

  • Movies We Wish We Were An Extra In
    2026/05/14

Not that anybody asked but this week we squeezed into costume and hovered hopefully in the background because we're figuring out our Top 3 Movies We Wish We Were An Extra In. And with Ian having recently lived the dream as a real life extra, we're asking the truly important question: which cinematic worlds would be worth standing around in for twelve hours for three seconds of screen time? Would you rather be a reveller in a galaxy far, far away, a pedestrian dodging kaiju in downtown Tokyo, or a partygoer in the most glamorous era Hollywood ever put on screen? What will make our final Top 3 list this week? Expect being riverside on Riverside, middle class picklebacks and the bee who gets blamed for the honey going missing.
