Because there’s a difference between learning… …and avoiding. The Truth About “Productive” Procrastination If you’ve ever: Opened 12 tabs researching one ideaDownloaded multiple PDFs “for later”Bought courses you haven’t finishedListened to podcasts instead of taking action You’re not lazy. You’re likely stuck in what I call “squirrel syndrome.” It looks like movement. But it’s actually motion without momentum. What Is Squirrel Syndrome? It’s when curiosity turns into avoidance. You start here: “I’m going to write a proposal.” And end up here: Watching a YouTube videoResearching templatesReading about persuasion psychology An hour later? Nothing is actually done. Why We Do This (And Don’t Admit It) Let’s be honest. Most of the time, it’s not about needing more information. It’s about this: “I’m not ready to be seen yet.”“If I learn more, I won’t fail.”“If I wait, I can get it perfect.” Information feels safe. Action feels exposed. You’ve learned a lot. But implemented… very little. Because learning feels like progress. But implementation is what changes outcomes. The Perfect Plan Trap You want to launch something. It amplified it. Here’s the Hard Truth At some point… Action is the only teacher left. You can’t research your way into confidence. You build it by doing. The 70% Rule You do not need 100% clarity to begin. If you have: 60–70% understanding… start. Adjust later. Because clarity doesn’t always come from thinking. It comes from doing.
